Wow, that's so sweet!

Good luck to you! I've never been to these regions in Russia, and I hope I'll get to see the Far East some time in the future! I've heard it's extremely beautiful.

I'm shocked that a one month salary can last you a year over there - I had no clue that the cost of living was so cheap!! In Moscow it wasn't that way and it's getting more and more expensive...

I hope you'll have a great time and successful business and all!

Russia's inflation rate is really on the rise.

You can keep up with all their financial news at

http://rbcnews.com

The dollar is on the decline and their prices have increased a lot since my trips in 2003 and 2004. And things will continue this way as long as oil prices stay where they are at and Russia continues to grow economically.

Next thing you know the dollar is equal to the ruble and our yearly salary is good for one month.

You want a small example, check out the real estate prices in central Moscow. Makes California look cheap.

But in the meantime enjoy the windfall in the price of living, although it is not as big as before.

I saw an interesting cartoon in Time the other day.

It showed a pair of shoes from China with a sign that said "savings of $6" then showed a barrel of oil that said "price inflated because of China's booming economy, you guessed it... $6"

Seems like the whole world's economy is eating up the dollar now, and based on the dependance of one thing.... you guessed it... OIL!

Well i must say good luck in your journey and life in russia

And i just want you to know that you are not the only one moving.

I am doing the same thing But iam not going to russia .

Iam going to ethiopia and live there with my soon to be wife.

I will be renting my house out In The US and put my things in stoarge,

And i might ship one of my cars over there.

I have the kind of job where i can live any where in the world i want

We dont have childern just me and my Baby Girl

SO i will go there and learn more about the ethiopian Cultre.

And we will do the visa process while iam there and i might just start a bussiness there as well . Since i have my investors licence to do bussiness there and plus the cost of living there is real cheap .

and when i say cheap i mean cheap our dollar is strong there.

So i will be leaving in july plus i just came back from there about 3 weeks ago . and i dont have any bills just me, and then if we want to come back to the US we can.

So good luck to you and moving to russia

Paul & wubit

Well, the decision has been made and the tickets purchased; I am moving to Russia April 14 and staying until October. I will be doing wildlife photography and helping my fiancee with preparations to move to America. I know this is a bit unusual but I want to truely learn about Russia and Russian life so that I may better understand my wife and her children. I have been to Russia five times in the past 7 months to see if this adventure is possible.

Wish me luck or tell me what a fool I am.:help::devil::);)

So how was your trip??:)

For those of you who were wondering about our old friend Castawaysailor, I have terrible news. Last year before his planned trip, but I can't remember when, he lost his life in a car accident. His fiancee was devistated as you can imagine. I don't have all the details but this information was relayed to me from another mutual friend of ours here in Florida (Castaway was from Tampa). I had communicated with him a couple of times and we had planned to get together. He had been following our case on another website and was well into the visa process when this happened. I will miss him.

Wow!

That sucks.

I was actually, just last night, thinking about death, and how it would relate to the VJ process (just found out my dad has cancer.... started thinking about my own death/relation to wife/life in general/consequences/outcome/etc./etc./etc.) and to read this today, that really drives it home.

So sorry to hear about this. I remember PMing Castaway many times about his trip and plans for the future.

He will be missed here on this board.

What is going on with his fiancee/wife?

Monika (my wife from "foreverandever") and myself were very saddened to hear what happened to Castawaysailor. Until today, we had not know about this unfortunet incident. Needless to say, we are shocked and saddened! What a LOSS! He was one of the first people to wish us congrats after Monika and I recevied our NOA2 on our K1 Visa way back in Sept. 05. Sorry to hear this. RIP, Castaway.
