What is a "touch" ?

I see a lot of people putting that into their timeline after their NOA-1. Since I just received my NOA-1, I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something! This stuff seemed so hard to understand at first, but it seems to be simple in the end.

If someone could explain what I should expect at this point, I would be most grateful!

Much love!

When you register online at USCIS.GOV for your case update, over there you will see the 'LAST UPDATED' date which eventually changes when ever they 'TOUCH' your case. ...... But sometimes people get touches just before they get approval.....and sometime not even a single touch.

Another example of a touch is when you change your address with USCIS. When you send any additional documents......

Just go and register online and you will see under MY PORTFOLIO ...... LAST UPDATED DATE......

Thank you! If I register through here, will I still receive confirmations, etc through regular mail? I wouldn't want to miss anything important. Or is this simply a way to check on the updates of your petitions?

registration at the site is NOT LINKED to receiving postal mail notifications, at all.

many people 'want something electronic' so

they register at the site

then when the petition is approved - squeal with delight when the approval email hits their email inbox.

It's a good thing, always....

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Sweet! I don't always trust my e-mail completely and ...sometimes still don't even trust my mail man! I would prefer to simply have both. I'll go for it.

Sry, I feel so squeamish and unsure! I don't want anything to get messed up. =D Almost ####### actually.
