Hello

i think this topic has been done befor but i am unable to find it again,i am going for my visa medical on the 20th of this month and i have some issues.

when i was 15 i went through a few months of depression and with it some minor self harm, i am now left with about 5 scars on my left arm and like a grid shaped scar on my right shoulder. these scars are hardly visable now and i have never considered myself a self harmer so i have said no on the visa forms. i have always told people that i got them from my training for cage fighting as i am an amature cage fighter. Also i have never been to the doctors about this so there is know medical history of deprssion or self harm or any medtal conditions, this was a one off ocurance and has not happend in the last 5 years.

what i was wondering if the medical examaniner notices these scars will he belive my exsplanation or will he say that they are self harming scars, and if so what will happen.

any adivice will be helpful as i hope this mistake i made so many years ago will not impeade me from going to the usa.

i havent lied on my medical, i have no medical history of this, i dont consider it a lie on the visa form either as they are trying to find out wether i am a danger to myself or others and i am not. i do appriciate the response though and i am still going to try, the scars are hardly visable now and i am hoping they dont hinder me as i need to move to usa to live with my father after my mother has died

the doctor won't give you a full physical under the microscope... they won't question scars or ask you if you were suicidal back in the day...

it was a long time ago... what's past is past. you know that you are mentally stable and secure and you should answer as such.

They don't usually question you about scars unless they look like they could have been self inflicted. Do they?

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

If you have your medical in the Philippines and the doctor finds scars that he thinks may have been self-inflicted, you will be required to undergo a psychology test where you have to give written answers to lots of questions. I haven't heard of anyone "failing" the test.
