You could for your own peace of mind, but the results will not be honored at St. Luke's.

From what I have read here, go for the sputum test...I read here recently about one of the members who was declared negative after the first smear test, I believe.

How long has it been since you were in Singapore? You may have had it then...just latent (inactive). That happens too.

You have no choice but to go on with your sputum test. Just hope and pray that it will turn out negative. St. Lukes won't acknowledge any medical result from other hospitals.

Chrismae, My fiancee just went through all, she had to do the sputum test on 12th,13th,14th of july because St Lukes said they saw white lines that looked like feathers, she done the sputum test on those dates and then on 16th july, she went back and they told her the smear test was neg, so we waited the 8 weeks, which she is in manila now and has completed her medical.

Try not to worry too much about the smear test and the culture. Many people go through the same thing. The vast majority of people do not have TB.

The most difficult part is the waiting. Hang in there. It's worth it in the end. :star:

Good luck! :star:

My fiancee also had to take the sputum test back on July 12. The preliminary test was negative but still had to wait the mandatory two months. She was told to call back on Sept 10 but no one answered because the office was closed for the Ramadan holiday... what?!? Anyways she called again following Monday Sept 13 and results were negative. Went back to St Lukes to finish vaccinations on Sept 16 and her interview is rescheduled for Sept 27... You just have to be patient.

Hi, I understand how you feel. My daughter was required by St Luke's to undergo the 3 day sputum test. It turned out to be negative and we waited for 6 weeks and then the culture test turned out to be negative also and she completed the medical exams at St Luke's..and we all left for the US together.

I know its the anxiety of waiting that is unbearable. Its a stressful experience. Just hang on there. You're not the only one who is going through this.

Goodluck and be strong!

Don't worry, I am sure you will be fine!

Just remember they will take two months off your visa since you have had to wait for the test results.

My wife's visa expired six months from the first exam date.

I find myself replying when I saw this kind of posting...

Anyway, okay lang yan, if you are sure na wala kang TB kasi sa St.Lukes, anything na may makita sila sa lungs mo na kahit gahibla na kulay puti or seems like hole or scar, you will still need to undergo sputum test. Anyway,2 months lang naman yon. Spend mo na lang time mo on preparing for your interview kasi no choice ka talaga dyan sa St.Lukes, pakiramdam ko nga racket na nila yan eh kasi you need to pay extra for another pregnancy test before they will give you shots.

Sorry...it's not Chinook...it's me...Tahoma...and my Tagalog sucks! :)

I think you are asking Chinook how's life after being here for a year. Then, I think you are saying that you received a nice job offer. Am I close?
