Using Assets for AOS

We are going to be doing the DCF here in Turkey and since I have been here for almost 2 years, I do not have a job in the states. I have a savings acct. here, I understand that I can use that as long as it is 3x the requirement for 2 people (me and the hubby). Anyone have any experience in Ankara with a similar situation and is there a limit on funds that can be taken out of Turkey? Does the money need to be changed into US dollars as well when showing proof? Also, does anyone know what is required when one uses savings to show sufficient proof? Hope that all of this makes sense and everyone please chime in!

It looks as if I would need right around $57,000 to meet the requirement.... :help:

Assets held outside the US are factored at 5:1. If you can transfer it to a bank in the US then the 3:1 ratio ought to apply.

From the I-864 FAQ:

Can the immigrant visa applicant count assets that he or she owns that are outside the United States, such as real estate or personal property?

Yes, under the following conditions:

The assets must be convertible to cash within 12 months

The applicant must show that the assets can be removed from the country where they are located. Many countries have limits on cash or liquid assets that can removed from the country

The net value of assets is at least five times the difference between the sponsor's income and 125 percent of the poverty guideline for the household size.
