I was just wondering what's the $350 for that shows on the US Embassy Manila website? If I am not mistaken, When they file for the K1 visa, its $455. Does that mean that the $350 is a different fee they pay at the US embassy manila?

when your I-129F petition is approved, then you apply for the K-1 visa at the US Embassy in Manila. The fee for applying for a K-1 visa is $350.

They are two separate fees.

And yes, a separate $350 is paid for the boy's K-2 visa. Is the boy listed as an accompanying dependent or as follow-to-join?

you have to present the pay of $350 on the day of ur interview.

It is adviseable to pay $350 few days before your interview date.

$455 is a filling fee (I129-F) to USCIS.

Yes every applicant regardless of age is required to pay for that interview.

The fee is not an Embassy Fee so to speak. It is the visa application fee and is not paid at the Embassy in Manila. It is paid at most branches of Citi or BDO Banks and you will be given a receipt to include in your petition package and have to show at the Embassy or "NO Interview" This is all explained very well in plain easy to understand English on the US Embassy Manila web site. The 455 is fully explained in the USCIS web site.

A little reading now will save you a LOT of delays later.

The $140 fee is paid by a different visa category, it does not apply to the boy and his mother.

K1 and K2 visa applicants pay $350 per person. ($700 for your fiancee and her son)

each applicant must pay $350 ( your fiance and her son ) for Visa and another fee for medical examination at St. Luke $213.35 for adult $185.35 none adult.

i was a bit annoyed at this new fee when i first read about it, think it was $130.00 just a few months ago but what can you do. Just seems crazy that you have to pay so much just to be with someone you love.

Im sure if I was the one moving to her country it would be so much cheaper, such is life.

Sweetmayy is correct - it's a good idea to pay the fee a couple of days prior to going to the embassy. If all your ducks aren't in a row (and arranged at perfect right angles with a micrometer), USCIS is likely to give you trouble.

The fee is not specific to the embassy. It's $350 per person at EVERY embassy. So yes, there is a fee in China.
