From all the cases I've read about on this site, it seems most New Delhi APs are over within about 2 months. One man recently got his visa at Delhi after almost exactly 2 months in AP. This is not guaranteed, of course, just a general guideline. The fact that they kept his passport is a good sign, however, and probably means that they won't take too long to issue the visa.

yeah that sounds about right. another VJer had her husband's interview at the end of may, got put in AP (from Delhi btw) and he only now entered the US last a week to 2 weeks ago. so it can take 2-3 months.

I think that's the same guy I was talking about. His visa was actually issued on July 29 so it took exactly 2 months. He just waited a few weeks to fly home.

My 5 cents...

There are 2 options for Delhi Embassy.

1. If they kept passport, then you are in AP (Administrative processing) and normally will be over in 6-8 weeks.

2. If they give you passport with 221g to submit documents with passport to VFS after interview, you are in AR (Administrative review), the visa will be issued 3-6 weeks after you submit documents to VFS.

Trust in Wahaguru...

I don't have any info to share with you... Hang in there "amankular"... atleast you 2 are together in India (I think).

It is better than you are here and he is there... phone, email, chat. It is not same as together.

Trust in higher power, you will be fine...
