this is a stupid question,

i am about to order a police certificate for my K1-visa-interview and i was wondering if i should order more than just one original just in case i might need to show a police certificate at another point in the immigration process, like AOS. i am just trying to be prepared for whatever will come soon in the next steps of my immigration, and i have not had the time to look closer at the AOS-process yet. what do you think?

thanks

Thank you VisaJourney

I agree, you will NOT need the German police certificate for AOS. (And , by the way, you do know that the certificate must not be older than 6 months at the time of the K-1 interview, don't you...? ;) )

What you could use later in the immigration process:

An international birth certificate (the German one is sufficient for the interview in Frankfurt, but you will need one in English for AOS....and getting an international one is cheaper than having it translated :) )

The vaccination worksheet DS-3025 (ask the doctor in Germany when you have the medical).

It is much easier to get the vaccination supplement (I-693a) here in the US (which you'll need for AOS) if you have the DS 3025 from your K-1 medical.

Good luck with the K-1 process,

CW

AOS timeline:

03/17/06 filed for AOS

03/28-06 touched

04/04/06 biometrics

04/05/06 touched

05/23/06 transfered to CSC

06/17/06 touched

08/16/06 touched

11/20/06 USCIS cust.service started inquiry about case (because it's outside of processing times)

11/30/06 approval e-mail

12/07/06 Greencard in the mail (= 8 months and 21 days for the entire AOS process)
