One thig I'm learning right now: they put a "hold" on the money you put in to the card for 24 hours, so you can't use it right away. And of course they don't mention that anywhere during the signup. :P

Think I'll switch our direct dial LD to 3U. Power Net Global (our current LD service) has terrible connections to Morocco. We can hear them, they can't hear us; delay of 2-3 seconds; dropped calls, etc.

Like Noura said, to Morocco, IDT Global Calling Card is the cheapest. Yes...it is a calling card, but you recharge online and can even set it up to automatically recharge once it falls to a certain level. Hicham can call from the States back to a cell in Morocco for 18 cents/minute (lots of 45 minute + phone calls now happen) and it is almost always a good connection (he is calling a cell and you know how they can be).

Here is the link again for y'all.

http://www.idt.net/personal/cards/gc/

I wish I had known of this when Hicham was still in Morocco. I had HUGE phone bills for triple the cost per minute.

Just yesterday I put money on the card for Hicham and he was able to call less than a minute later. We had only one problem once, which was a computer glitch, and their customer service was awesome.

ive been using Skype and SkypeOut since my husband has been back in Algeria and the connection has been great recently (in the beginning it was horrible, but i think that was a fault in the internet connection at my old apartment). i can call my husband on his cell phone for about 15 cents a minute.

Well My hubby and I decided that the phone card we buy gets us 12.5 cents a minute used straight thru so we are going to stick with it. We get 40 min for $5 but we also get the card at a discount for $4.50. which is like 9 cents a minute. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Hello,

we are a Skypeout users... i'm calling my husband from Morocco to USA for 0.021$ !! i call him from my computer to his cell phone or land line !! (he can do the same from USA, too) ...we bought a 10$ credit and it lasted for a total of 9 hours !! the quality is good and it's very cheap !! he can call me from USA, the price isn't higher than 0.28$ (well, i think)!! you can check the website below for more info

www.skype.com/products/skypeout

have a nice day

I like the skypeout idea, but it leaves one tied to your computer - I like IDT b/cuz I can use it from any phone. I can talk to my love from the car if I want. That's been the one thing that's kept me from using skypeout. We do use skype on the computer for voice chat, it's much better quality than Yahoo. Just my opinion.

Noura

Not sure how high tech you both are but i use Yahoo voice calls from NY to Guatemala and it cost me .06C a min not sure about morroco but take a look
