Complaint against Embassy in UK

Has anyone file a complaint with the US Embassy in UK before? I am so irritated with them.

Interview was on 8/27, 2 weeks later still no visa. The only method to check is to pay for the call regardless of busy signal or not. National Visa Center shows visa approved and being processed. Finally get thru to Embassy today and find out they had some computer glitch and have no record of him showing up for interview.

So what about the $$$$ paid at time of interview. What about the fact someone there is sitting with his paperwork not to mention his passport!!!! What about the fact he paid the courier service and received a tracking number!!!

Why should he be charged to make constant phone calls to find out what is going on to only find out they screwed up big time!!!

It all got sorted quickly enough and he should have visa in hand in next couple days.

This should not happen to other people!! What can be done?!

It took one month from the time of our London embassy interview to receiving the green card. Considering it's only two weeks and you have the tracking number, I wonder if it's the embassy phone that's screwing up. The extortion hotline has been known to not be very helpful... perhaps everything is in order after all. I'd wait two more weeks.

No it wasn't until he got thru on the line that he found all this out and then only once he emailed his proof of interview that they were able to expedite his visa. Looking at other time lines on the VJ website someone else had their interview the same day and received their visa the next week. The average turnaround on the fiancee visa has been 3-5 days. So I don't think that whoever he talked to was wrong. Had he not got thru on the line the passport and paperwork would still be sitting on someone's desk!

Im running into the same type of problem.... Fiance had interview at London Embassy October 12th and was approved. they took the passport and told us five business days... now its october 28th.. still NO passport....

I called the Department of State.. and the first lady acted like I was nuts for expecting the visa within 5 to 7 business days. She told me that if I didnt recieve a request for more info (the dreaded 221g) then not to worry, they were just in the process of finishing it up.

I also tried contacting london via email.. got a very generic "they are in the final processes of reviewing your case, blah blah blah"...

Called the State Department again... they only could tell me that the visa hasnt been stamped in the passport....

Im thinking that maybe there is a backlog going on in London.. and they are dragging their feet....

If you have a complaint.. I would contact the department of state.. that would be the most effective way on this side of the pond.

Most of all, try NOT to panic... hang in there (like all of us)....
