Hi guys..

My friend is now in AOS process and she just got a RFE for a co-sponser... my question is that she would need the form I-846 and what else? (she said she needs something else too??)

She asked me that her co-sponser would be her husband step-dad.. I guess that's OK? She asked if the step dad have to write any letter saying who is he and why he supporting her? I mean i never heard of this so I dont know

I'm just have no clue when it comes to co-spnser .. tried to read but with limited english ability it's just too overwhelming

Thank you

yes its the same affidavit, they just check off they are the co-sponsor on the form. they send in everything the sponsor did, also including proof of citizenship, such as a passport or a birth certificate (go with the passport, i got RFE'd because i sent in a birth certificate).

anya-D,

You really do need to find out from from your friend what the 'something else' is. She has seen the RFE - we have not.

A joint sponsor submits an I-864 and the appropriate supporting documents. Take a look at the new I-864 and its instructions - in general it's much clearer than the previous version.
