Have not been on Visa Journey for awhile. Apparently they do not let you edit your posts anymore.I just read what I post and I think it kinda sounds like I have been married to my wife more then once  After married there is suppose to be a. and the first letter in the should be capitalized. So it should read- Before my wife and I were married. The second time I traveled to Russia,,,,ect :ot2:

I am able to edit this pot but not my previouos one :bonk: Figures!

I gotcha, man. Although, I did think, "how the hell were they married more than once?" (I've heard of folks getting married there and here.)

Welcome back. How are things?

Don't bother paying a tourist agency to do the registration. Waste of $$$ and they probably don't even do private visa registration anyway.

They will if you pay them. They'll make the invitation letter, registration, everything.

While this could work for someone in Moscow/St. Pete, it's probably not the best route for someone staying in Bumfak Siberia.

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

Nope, those kind of agencies don't deal with private/homestay visas at all. And considering that you are the Carl Weathers from Arrested Development of the RUB forum, I'm surprised that you're even suggesting spending the extra money to go through a middleman rather than just heading over and dealing with a little bureaucracy!

Actually the agencies do offer services for home stay visas...at least mine does.

I chose to use the service versus having my fiancee (now my wife) send a letter because of the time factor. Between how long the mail would take and the time dealing with the Russian Embassy, I went with the quicker and simpler visa service to suit my scheduled trip to Russia. I don't remember the fee to be unreasonable.

Its possible, marry , divorce and get remarried again.

Then you can introduce her, "this is my wife, my ex-wife and my ...future ex-wife" !!! :)

Ahh, the ones I used for tourist visas didn't.

I meant the registering of the visa once you got there, not dealing with the embassy. Going to the embassy is indeed a pain in the @$$.

Actually, they do.

Like I said, I wouldn't fool with them outside the metro areas, but in the big city, it could well be worth letting them handle it.

I don't watch that show so I can't ID with the character. I get that you're saying I'm an advocate for not spending extra to do things you can handle yourself. (Right?) That is true... except when spending hours and hours of a short vacation standing in line doing something I can pay someone $50 to take care of for me. I'll gladly pay someone $50 to do something for a few hours while I'm on vacation.

Hell, if FSU, $50 for a few hours is a pretty good deal! (Well, at least in some professions, anyway.)

I've heard of folks getting married there and here - twice.

Awesome! Glad to hear things are working out for you. Stop on by some more if you get the chance. Fill us in on all the details.

How are things with you?

Still married, so I guess they can't be too bad. Wifey's a citizen now and just got the blue passport so we're pretty much done with the VJ process. The paperwork part, anyway. The Journey never stops!
