So I called the USCIS about two weeks back asking about my case status. It'd been over 5 months since the NOA1 date for my I-130. The rep I spoke to said my case was negative 4 days from being beyond normal processing times (i.e. I needed to wait at least 4 days before they could file a service request for late processing).

So today I call them up again, about 10 days later. And now they tell me my case is negative 15 days from normal processing times :bonk:

What gives? Isn't the queue supposed to move forward with time??

:help:

I dont know the answer, but I am experiencing the same. On September 7 it was five months.. I called September 8 and was told that they arent technically late on their request until -15 days from the NOA, and wouldnt file the request. I called again 9/13 and they agreed to file a service request for disposition since it was clearly past my NOA date.. At that time they advised me that it could take up to 30 days to respond as to why there has been no update or communication on my processing in 5 months.

Surprise surprise!! After all that, petitions were approved 3 days later, on Sep. 17 (NOA2s for both 130 and 129F)

Thank you USCIS :star:

P.S. Talk to Tier 2 Immi. Service Officer when you call the USCIS hotline. Tier 1 reps seem to give nonsense info ...
