Given Name on Green Card

The relief of receiving my husband's green card was huge. But now having looked at it again, the given name on the green card is listed as 'First Name <space> First initial of Middle Name" which is not how his name is listed anywhere else (not on previous 2 year green card, not on passport, etc..)

Just wondering if anyone else had encountered anything like this before. Is it necessary to send in for a replacement card? At least the middle initial is in fact the correct initial...

I didn't have a name error but a date of birth error and I returned the card immediately using form I-90. That card is a representation of you and everything you are in this country so it needs to be correct and match your other documentation. I agree with Just Bob, better to fix it now than run into problems later.

When I find out I will let you know. I just sent it back last Tuesday September 7th and I'm now waiting for the NOA. When I called USCIS to find out more about the situation I was told that processing can take up to 6 months. Once I have the receipt notice in hand I will schedule an INFOPASS appointment to get a temporary stamp in my passport that will allow me to travel and do other business until the replacement card comes.

Thanks Nik+Heather. I found that sample after I had posted and agree with you. I double (triple?)-checked my husband's card (front & back) and it appears just as the example does.
