My friend's son has a fiancee and a child in Mexico.

They all live in Mexico and he wants to come to the US with his family.

Would he be able to do it with the K-1 Fiancee Procedure?

Suggest the son look into 'Consular Record of Birth Abroad' , CRBA, on the CJ web portal.

If he meets the USCitizen requirements, then he's golden. No need for K-2 filing on the child.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yes, it will be much easier and cost less to do the Consular report of birth abroad (CRBA)than the K2 route for the child. My son was born in Mexico and he now has his US Citizenship after I went through the process. Look at this link: http://travel.state.gov/law/family_issues/birth/birth_593.html
