you can make many calls with the 18$ use your pin # i used it 8 times i had to rescedule interview and etc. and they never cut my calls

cool! thanks for the info! i was cautious cause i thought the operator said that the $18 pin was only good for 3calls. that's nice to know you can use it more than that! =) thanks again!

You want to speed up the process and you "need help bad", yet you don't want to spend a few bucks for phone calls? Hmmm...

"need help bad"= i just wanted to get more infos without wasting time and money... and $18 is still a lot for just a couple of phone calls to the embassy on top of all of the "recently raised fees" for the K1 app. you're lucky you didn't have to pay more than twice on your K1 app back in 08' compared to now.

The price of the K-1 application didn't go up. It's still $455. It was the price of the visa fee that went up. It went from $131 to $350. The phone calls and the visa fee are peanuts compared to your expenses that are coming up...the medical...the flight to the U.S....AOS...supporting your fiancée...winter clothes...etc. I hope you're ready for all of that.

If you truly want to save money on phone calls to the Embassy's call center, then wait for your fiancée to receive her letter from the Embassy. That way, you will know for sure that the Embassy has your K-1 packet, and that the packet has been entered into their system. Then you can schedule an interview appointment with one phone call. Or, cheaper yet, let your fiancée call and make her own interview appointment when she receives her letter.

I don't know if you're reading the very first post... but it seems like you're not getting it. I called the embassy to set up an interview, obviously because my finacee already recieved the letter. I don't know how you came up to conclusion of thinking that we're trying to get ahead of the process. I was asking around for ways to get it done faster not to get ahead of it.

When I mentioned "K1 App", if you're smart enough, you should be able to tell that I wasn't just talking about the application fee itself. If you want to back track on the previous post, I clearly quoted "recently raised "FEES"" meaning all the other "fees" that you have to pay for the K1 app.

By the way, I called the embassy again and they said this month is already full for K1 interviews and the next following months is not set yet for interviews. They advised me to call back again in a few days or so to check when it becomes available. And for your information, I am aware of all the expenses going through this process and I'm not stupid for trying to bring my fiancee here in the U.S. with me if I can't fully support her.

For the rest of you VJ'ers, could you please respond, to posts like this, with some helpful tips or try to help out others using your past experiences with the K1 process and not be like a numb-nut like some people here who respond to posts that's wayyyy out of the topic. Thanks and Goodluck to the rest of you.

Now I'm supposed to be a mind reader? No, it wasn't obvious from your posts that your fiancée already received a letter from the Embassy. Why would that be "obvious?" Had you been paying attention on this site, it would have been crystal clear to you that many K-1ers make an interview appointment at the USEM well before they have received their letter from the Embassy.

When I mentioned "K1 App", if you're smart enough, you should be able to tell that I wasn't just talking about the application fee itself. If you want to back track on the previous post, I clearly quoted "recently raised "FEES"" meaning all the other "fees" that you have to pay for the K1 app.

Apparently you don't believe that words have meanings. And if you were smart enough, you would quote yourself accurately. Let me refresh your memory:

"recently raised fees" for the K1 app

you didn't have to pay more than twice on your K1 app

By the way, I called the embassy again and they said this month is already full for K1 interviews and the next following months is not set yet for interviews. They advised me to call back again in a few days or so to check when it becomes available.

Like I said above, have your fiancée call and make her appointment because it's cheaper and it's just as quick. Don't listen to the script-readers at the call center. Have her call tomorrow.

And for your information, I am aware of all the expenses going through this process and I'm not stupid for trying to bring my fiancee here in the U.S. with me if I can't fully support her.

Good. Then you won't have any problem paying her cell phone bills which include all of her calls back home.

Here's a helpful tip: it doesn't help to get all whiney and defensive and call names. But, of course, that should be "obvious."
