Know any good places to stay in Dakar?

Does any one know a reasonably priced place my fiance and I can lodge while we are there to get a visa? Like to find a place somewhat close to the embassy, safe neighborhood, clean, honest place where we can lock the door and know our belongings will be there when I get back, etc. Thank you.

my husband and i stayed in kingz plaza hotel/hostel. it's in yoff, which is the only downside, but i'm sure you can find a taxi to take you back and forth. that's what we did. it's reasonably priced, the rooms are nice, and the staff is helpful.

Hi!

I have stayed a few places in Dakar-- Hotel Oceanic, which is very close to the embassy, reasonably affordable, and comfortable. We prefer Auberge Marie Lucienne, which is close to the University in Dakar-- I think it is much more comfortable for the same price, and close to our friends at the University.
