I have been perusing the timelines and there has only been one CSC transfer since August. It is really weird considering that for the past few months cases have been flying over to CSC and now nothing.

Any thoughts?

They must be backed up. Our case was transferred June 10, 2010 and it has not been touched since then.

I feel for the AOS Filers who got transferred over to CSC and were excited and celebrating over the chance to get GC approved WO an interview.

I know that I was jealous when we did NOT get a CSC transfer, and instead opened the letter only to find a given interview date. ( But we completed our interview easily and stress free.)

Well, life does not usually work out how we think it will. We went to our AOS interview, and had a VERY nice CO interview us and did not even look at piles of evidence brought. (She was mostly interested in our Pics, so DON'T believe the Lazy Larry's here who will tell you, "Photos are only secondary evidence, so not as important as primary evidence.")

I know there were a group of Oct 2009 AOS filers who were lost in a black CSC hole, and are still waiting for a GC.

Well, I hope the CSC gets its act together soon, and sends all CSC AOS filers GC's soon!

ps, I wonder if any of the VJ Immigration Procedure geniuses know of a way for a stalled USC filer to go thru INFOPASS and actually REQUEST an AOS interview in order to get things done.....

All AOS applications go to Chicago then to either the CSC or your local USCIS office for an interview. Historically applications that are transferred to the CSC do not have interviews and are approved sooner than application that have interviews. For some reason CSC has ground to a halt.

wow, we had no clue some AOS applications had to visit those dreadful 'pre-AOS' service centers again, we thought at this point they were all forwarded by USCIS to local offices for interviews. thanks for the clarification...and good luck to all those experiencing service center delays YET again  hopefully it means they'll suddenly start kicking their heels again (which they seem to do after some prolonged inactivity).

man sorry to hear that!!

and yah I'd want a refund too :P lol...... I'm hoping then that ours just goes straight to our local office, I'd rather wait a bit longer and get an interview then my application sitting doing nothing and not have any ideas what's going on w/ CSC....! Plus, I don't mind the interviews, we're totally legit and have nothing to worry about! :) got lotsa proof and of course our marriage isn't fake ...I love my husband VERY much!! :D

Plus, then I actually see a real person not a computer or a piece of paper telling me what's going on.....

I never thought about it like that until recently. I think I would have rather had an interview as well. It's not that my husband really needs the card at this moment. He is working with his EAD but the fact is that when you pay for something (especially something so expensive) you want to see what your money bought...

Okay.. I guess I will just go back to waiting....

is it safe to say though that if your application gets transfered to CSC that it doesn't really go any faster than having the local office work on the case and having an interview?

Yeah, include a letter with the AOS package asking if USCIS can help you collect the money you were promised for marrying and helping the applicant to immigrate. That should pretty much guarantee an interview.

also curious....approximately what percentage of applications actually go to the CSC, and what determines wether they head to the CSC or the local offices for further processing ? is it based on if they believe it's a striaghforward case (to CSC) or requiring interview - then to local office...

I agree julesrose, I would rather cut the time in half by heading to an interview and meeting a live person. at least that way you know where you stand.

Jim, I think you are a bit out of line with your sarcasm and condescension.

(Surprised this is coming from you, and in the upper forums, too)

I simply raised what I think is a legitimate response to the OP waiting in CSC Limbo.

There is a history of cases being transferred to the CSC and then falling into a black hole. Some folks from last Oct are STILL waiting to hear about their GC.

I think that making an INFOPASS appt and ask if an interview can be made, so a definite date for a chance at getting GC approval, instead of just twisting in the wind, would be a better proposition for many folks here. Especially those who want to return to their homeland to visit family.

Being in CSC GC Limbo is NOT fun. Going to an interview might be a realistic alternative if that is a possibility. The worst that an INFOPASS appt can say is, NO. Next worse is, "Be patient and wait for our response."

Cheers.
