Here's the second letter I sent to my senators' and congressman's offices last week.

Dear Congressman XXXXXXXX:

On XXXXXXXXXXX, I sent a fax to your office requesting assistance regarding my case with USCIS for my I-129F/K-1 visa petition for alien fiancé. At that time I also included a release of information and a letter describing the circumstances of my case with USCIS.

There is additional general information that I would like to make your office and you aware of regarding USCIS and the current processing times of I-129F/K-1 visa petitions.

I am aware that there are many other I-129F petitions which were filed on or near the same date as mine show online that they were updated on October 3, 2010, and am also aware that many of those, like mine, have exceeded the 5 month processing time frame posted (posted on February 14, 2011 and currently showing the same information) on the USCIS processing time information page.

I am aware that USCIS national customer service center is stating that it can be up to 7 months before a decision is made regarding if the petition is accepted or not. .

I feel that it is important that you know that some petitions, without expedite and without explanation, have been processed ahead of those filed around the same time as my petition, both at the Vermont Center and the California Service Center (http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=1&form=1&scenter=2&option=1&sortby=2 and http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=1&form=1&scenter=1&option=1&sortby=2). These discrepancies in conjunction with data from the USCIS web site (http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=6&office=6&charttype=1 and http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=21&office=6&charttype=1) give the appearance that many I-129F petitions have not only been set aside to put priority processing on other petition types but also are being adjudicated unequally and not in the order they are received.

On February 17, 2011, the USCIS director, Alejandro Mayorkas, had a press conference about strategic goals and initiatives for 2011. The transcript for this press conference is available on the USCIS website (http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/News/2011%20New%20Items/February%202011/transcript_StrategicGoalsInit_2011.pdf). Director Mayorkas was asked about asked about backlogs. He responded that didn’t believe there were any backlogs (see page 34 lines 17 through page 35 line 3). Based on the information regarding processing times of the petitions, I believe a backlog does exist which is not being addressed, but rather ignored by Director Mayorkas.

I am requesting at this time that you address and correct these issues, and that you direct the Vermont Service Center to adjudicate my petition and others, like mine, which are currently beyond the 5 month time frame for processing. I appreciate and look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Might not see many approvals today. Was a huge snow storm in the North East last night, this morning. All counties but 2 southern ones in Vermont were closed for State employees, so govt was probably off too.

Well, just checked the weather in St Albans VT and it looks clear til at least Thursday...so those VSC employees should have no trouble arriving bright and early to approve out petitions...

Give NVC a call. They will be able to give you your London case number, LND#. After your case has left NVC then DOS will track everything concerning your case. Read this very helpful thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/ It explains everthing that you need to know.

With DOS, you only need to press 1 for main menu and then 0 for an operator.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! :girlwerewolf2xn:

Sorry, but I can't take this anymore! :crying: My semester ends next week and I graduate on the 15th of April. I want to know when exactly I can see my fiance again before that or else I'll end up being on the computer every single day checking on my case status (and maybe eventually go insane).

Drinking a million glasses of Beam & Coke tonight!

Well I received an email response from the Service Request I initiated on February 24th. It stated that my case was under review.

I forwarded this letter to the oimbudsmen and asked if my case is under review would that not entail that the date on my file within the USCIS site changing to a recent date and not the October 3, 2010 that it has had since October 3, 2010.

He replied back and said yes this would be the case they are looking to the condition of my application and will respond in a few days.

my prayers are with anyone on this forum with loved ones in any of the effected regions today. God bless you.

I talked to my fiancee this morning before I went to work. I am very relieved to hear that she and her family are fine. Her city was not damaged by the earthquake. But an 8.9 earthquake is horribly massive. It is the 7th largest earthquake ever recorded. Not to mention the 10 meter tsunami that followed it.

As soon as I got home I place an expedite request. I hope that they do not deny it because her city was not badly damaged.

Good to hear that :), I was actually thinking of you (and others on visajourney with their loved ones in Japan), and how worried you must be. After our january vacation with my fiance, he went back to Moscow, landed in Domodedovo airport, and passed through the arrival hall minutes before the terrorist explosion there...It feels horrible being far from each other - when human life is so fragile.

My prayers are with people of Japan tonight.

Morning All,

I called again to the USCIS yesterday and once again was told they were still processing applications for August 21.

I stated that I had a service request to look into and the agent said this was impossible as I still had 24 more days to wait before would could be issued. I quoted the agent name and agent number and she transferred me to the tier 2 immigration officer. Who stated the same thing as the first neither would take look into the service request and said call back after the 24 days.

This is such a merry go round of bullshit and lies it is ridiculously frustrating.
