I think that most of the updates will come in at night, after the work day is done, so the fact that there is only 1 for Jan 4 so far is not indicative of anything. We need to wait until people have access to their home mailboxes before getting any meaningful tally for any given day.

Yea, I'm just hoping that each day looks like January 3rd or better for the next couple months. It's about time the K-1s and other family immigration petitions got attention since they were shelved. Personally I am starting to think the October 3 touch was them shelving all K-1s to start work on TPS, Work Visas.

I totally agree, but we will never know for sure.

Now that the TPS applications are tailing off, in theory, they should be able to plough through the family based petitions pretty quick. The next couple of weeks will be telling.

I'll be at 4 months from NOA1 the next couple of days... I just wish I could be in the US on or before March 13, my birthday! (L):luv: At this point, everything has become a little foggy and I cannot tell for sure. I only know that I want to be with him again and this time, FOREVER, and never have to say goodbye ever again. He went back to the States and I'm back to Romania after having spent the holidays together in England/France. It was awesome and lovely memories will remain alive in my heart, but there's also this feeling of being w/o him again. :( I LOVE HIM SO, SO MUCH!!!! :luv:

This DOES NOT look good! ONE approval for January 4.. ONE approval for January 5. Vermont has gone back into their coma once more! After one day of working at 1/2 of the correct speed, they are now at 1/10 of the correct speed.

At this rate of ONE per day, 20 per month, it will take 1 year and 2 months to get us to the end of September.

Surely they must be kidding!

After what Andy and Kayla said, i went through Igors list to find that roughly 15 July profiles haven't been active for the last two months or more. This tallies with previous months, where about this number are left on the list seemingly unnaproved.

Despite this, the people at VSC still need a kick up the a$$ to pump out more approvals

Welcome to Never Never Land, where you NEVER NEVER get your NOA2.

That leaves 57 remaining to be approved. At 1 per day, which seems to be Vermont's top speed times 20 working days per month, it will take them 3 months just to finish off July.

Like I said, welcome to Never Never Land.

Well, it didn't happen. January 3 was a one day fluke. Somebody at the Vermont Dis-Service Center must have snorted some coke and got the 5 done before the coke wore off.

Since then, it has been back to Vermont's usual top speed of ONE PER DAY.

Ehhh, we'll see. Waiting to see what the end of the week looks like and next week. From people not updating their profiles to people not knowing they got a NOA2 until it pops up in their mailbox, not sure we can get an accurate count for another week or so.

At that, I agree with your coke theory. Or we found one of the rare and elusive 'productive government employees'.

I really believe things are starting to move again. This week overall has seen more production out of VSC than the past few months. They can blow off petitioners all they want and give us whatever nonsense excuses they choose, but there are a lot of Congressmen/Congresswomen and Senators that are willing to get involved especially given the recent shifts in government. No agency, government or not, wants those kind of calls, emails and inquiries a million times a day.

The TPS petitions should be over or almost over by now and we're well past the few months that are known to be the highest for work visa applications. I'm not saying that the fact that those things were shoved to the front of the line isn't extremely frustrating and bad practice because it was both. I'm just saying that those things should be out of the way and with the pressure from petitioners and, more importantly, Congress members and Senators, I really believe that the service center is picking up again. There's no reason not to - VSC is very poorly organized, entitled and impossible to communicate with, yes, but it isn't a sadistic agency that ignores your petition just to torture you. They want the calls the stop as much as we want to be able to stop making them.

I'm all for people being able to rant and I know that this process is terrible and needs to be re-evaluated; that said, it certainly won't take a year to get to September files and I see no good reason to spread that kind of idea around on a forum where people are already frustrated and angry and, at times, hopeless. I'll re-iterate that this week has been more productive overall than VSC has been for a long time. I would love to see 8 VJ members a day get their approvals, but as others have pointed out VJ represents a very small portion of the petitions submitted, so sometimes we may see 5 VJ approvals a day, sometimes we may see 8, sometimes we may see 1. That doesn't mean that there aren't a good number of non-VJ members being approved at the same time. I think it's overly pessimistic to assume January 3rd was a "fluke" considering there's only been 2 other days since then (not including today as it's still early ;)).

I don't like to deliver bad news to despondent people who deserve so much more than their own government is willing to give them. But I would like even less to give those same people false hope based on wishful thinking without a single fact to back me up. What do I do when their hopes get dashed? I would much rather lay reality on the line on day 1.

I am glad that our calls and those from Congress are bothering them. That is why I encourage people to call as much as possible and have their Congress members do the same and to insist on speaking to the highest level person possible. If this is our only weapon against this intractable enemy, let us attack them with it as much as possible.

But more productive? Where? I don't see it. I see a total of 8 approvals this week. Do your own math: Add up the number of petitions between the last one approved and yours, divide by 8, and that is the number of weeks you have left before they will read yours.

I wish this were not the case. I wish we had a real service center instead of this despicable abomination that has the unmitigated gall to have the word "service' in its name.

Because of this obscene atrocity, my life is on hold and I have been reduced to an emotionless void who feels nothing and experiences nothing. My precious bride is living in exile in the frozen Russian winter when she belongs here. My Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years have been ruined, and my Valentines Day and Easter will be ruined as well, all because of this pathetic excuse for an office. And at the rate they are going, it looks like they will be ruining most of my summer as well. Elena and I had plans for that summer, and now I must sit back helplessly while the vicious jaws of this hideous monster crush all of them.

Am I angry? Hell yeah! I am beyond angry. I am livid, fuming, and furious, and my blood boils each and every day.

it looks like every month, there are about 2,000 new K-1 filers at USCIS.. which means that we don't have the entire population here on VJ website. Besides, some members here don't bother updating their timelines when they receive their NOA2 approval notice.. So I would just hang in there hoping we will be reviewed very soon =)
