To be honest I am being completely facetious and sarcastic. I really couldn't care less because as we see one "religion" is as phony as another. It is hilarious to see them argue over which fairy tale is true! To base any kind of life decision on fairy tales is ridiculous. Religions have been killing each other over, basically, money and territory for centuries, since "religion" began. I can promise I will be an equal opportunity antagonist of any religion.

Yes, I get that you also have no religious dogma to worry about but the thing is the people who cling to religion or whatever don't disappear no matter what system of government is in place. Look at China/Russia. The extremists are there and have political influence. We have a responsibility to encourage certain standards of humanity no matter what we do or do not believe in and that's the fundamental issue I am driving at. At some level we should care about certain things, when sexual appetites are predatory, we need to care for example.

In this instance it can't be because they did not grow up together, well when I say can't be, it is less likely. Normally, a brother/sister relationship has a dynamic where predatory behaviour could easily flourish.

It's not an extreme, I'm asking a question, where does your affect on the world around you start and end? It appears as if you feel you have complete control over your external influence or that your influence can only be benign. I find the curious.

Terrorists don't base their actions in any religious credo, there is none that supports terrorism - well not one that I am familiar with. All religious credos discriminate against women and gays though - christians have just learned to ignore that part of the good book these days.

Actually, Christianity, as it was spreading through the Roman Empire, was spread predominantly by women (especially wives of roman elite). Somewhere in the dogma of things this has been forgotten.

Christianity, at its root, was very informal. Small groups met in individual homes and believe it or not women were often the leaders. Somewhere between the 1st and 4th Centuries the Church developed and wrapped itself in dogma including excluding women. Women were not supposed to be discriminated against.

Therefore, it is not Christianity itself that discriminates, but organizations that discriminate.

Organized religion definitely discriminates, and not just against women, I know that. However, the actual scripture is, unfortunately, very discriminatory - albeit a reflection of the position women held in society at the time it was written - whether or not at the behest of a divine being. At its root, christianity is discriminatory - but I understand why currently christians are valiantly attempting to right those wrongs
