NVC says certified docs received

anybody who reads this, faced the same prob..? when u went original doc and pkt 4 says - certified copy received?

now what do you do for interview..they expect the 'original doc' right?! heck..look at the ways, trouble come!

whats an original doc for them..?

Yea, darnell...VFS. am wondering if this is someth more than 'lazy' - maybe in the american context original copy means someth else?! here, its a paper with all those stamps and signature. birth certificate is quite old and looks old as well.

This is the status of my docs- it all says 'D' where it hurts most! cant get another copy of these and even if i do..it will be just the same as the one they already have..

now, on a very optimistic note.. though it says original here http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3741.html it does say, original or certified one when u further click into details - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#certificates

both these are under the 'interview prep guidelines' for chennai consulate

either

--original or

--certified copy

plus

photo copy

any 'lazy casefile reviewer' is just that - lazy. they ticked the 'wrong box'.

if you sent in original, and they marked 'certified copy'

it really will be ok - as YOU have 'passed' the 'civil documents review' portion for the DS-230 during final review.
