Maybe Danno likes these kinds of flag desecration better, especially since White people are doing it.

Except in these examples, we don't see "hate" for the flag.

If your goal was to find white peeps desecrating the flag.. you could have found a better example than that, libs do it all the time.

Who cares if someone wants to burn the flag, the bible or the koran? It only says something about the toss pieces doing the burning.

I don't think either actions would be acceptable in a number of first world countries. Burning ones flag or a religious document is not a sign of freedom.

####### like this is why most other first world countries do not have nor wants the US version [definition] of limitless freedom. I also highly doubt the 'founding fathers' we hear so much about would have ever thought their laws would one-day be used to protect such #######.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Burning someone's flag or religious document is a sign that you are not able to intelligently articulate your argument for or against them.

So BY, can I cherrypick a half dozen pictures of Aussies doing ###### like that and extrapolate that the entire population does? Nice.

Right right, that must be the default reasoning of you and your buds on here now. You have been owned on pretty much everything else you have setup as a challenge, so you have resulted to using the not all do it stance. Even a homicide rate 86 times other countries means nothing, because not all do it.

I'll remember this next time you guys argue about rights, guns or health care.

You are so easy to please. Desecration is in the eye of the beholder, it seems.

Of course everyone has different opinions on these matters, I see some things as "disrespect" and others as desecration.

Thanks, Danno. We were REALLY lacking in Muslim digging threads here lately....

Don't blame me, I am just ridding the VJ wave, next week we will be on the next divisive news story.

We agree, and while I do support citizens in their unpopular speech, I don't see these "theatrics" as something that should be "1st amendment rights.. protected speech, as it is not speech at all.

IN fact it is more akin to -Inciting a riot, than anything else.

Speech: Written and spoken should be protected, Desecration of items such as Flags or religious materials (in public) should be up to local ordinances.

Local ordinances can't supersede the Constitution. The Supreme court years ago ruled it was protected speech to burn the flag,
