If muslims are terrorists

The point is that in the west we are conversant with what constitutes christian and what not when it comes to acts of violent protestation. When it comes to the muslim religion, most Americans assume that there is some branch of the muslim religion that condones and promotes violent protestation. It's really that simple.

This was an issue prior to the first Gulf War - to 'know thy enemy' and no one really stood out as the 'American Subject Matter Expert' on the different flavours of Islam and/or Muslim sectarianisms.

Many 'war gaffes' were made because of this ignorance - and I am getting really tired of the repetition. IF I CAN LEARN ABOUT the different types, so can anyone else - there's nothing special about me , at all.

And you do know that a majority of media outlets are supporting Geert ? It's called "freedom of speech". He is just telling it like it is.

No, I do not know that because it is simply not true. Yes, the Dutch politicians are trying to construct a parliament with the Freedom party as part of the coalition, but he is an embarrassment to the majority of Dutch politicians and he does not represent a majority view, although yes he does channel the anti-immigration rhetoric that has built a sizable minority following in the Netherlands.

There clearly is something special about you. There are many here who not only refuse to do the work to learn about Islam, they deny that a Muslim would know anything about Islam that they don''t know from blogs and YouTube.

I can't decide if it's the uninspiring, uninformed and sensationalist media that drives the degradation of political acumen or whether it's just following it. Either way, the people are not served well. I may not favour conservative social policies but I certainly respect the traditional conservative politicians. I have no respect for those who simply shout slogans and expect that to be enough - all parties are going down that route, it is not a liberal or conservative phenomenon, its a phenomena driven by respect for mediocrity. Seemingly because mediocrity is what the people want. Bleh to the lot of them.
