We are very excited to have FINALLY filed my petition yesterday, after waiting 6 weeks for my birth certificate to show up. However, after reading through the check instructions, I'm getting a little nervous. I didn't write out the date on the check, I just wrote 9/9/10. Is this going to be a problem? My biggest fear is reading through these threads & finding little things I did wrong, only to worry for the next few months. Ah!

K1 Timeline:

9.10.10 - Mailed I-129F

9.14.10 - Received in Dallas, signed for by L. Walker.

9.20.10 - Check cashed

2.7.11 - NOA2 via email

3.31.11 - Medical interview

4.4.11 - Mailed packet 3 and paid visa fee

4.26.11 - Visa interview appointment, 9am

4.26.11 - Visa APPROVED!!!

5.4.11 - Visa delivered

5.25.11 - POE: Chicago

6.5.11 - Wedding in Omaha

AOS:

6.18.11 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP

6.20.11 - Received in Chicago/check cashed

6.27.11 - NOA1 recieved for all three (AOS/EAD/AP)

7.26.11 - Biometrics appointment, 2pm

8.4.11 - Transfered to CSC

8.11.11 - EAD approved!!! (checked website)

9.14.11 - Green card approved!! (checked website)

9.19.11 - Green card in hand. Nothing further until 9/1/13!

What do you mean by wrting out the date of the check if you said you wrote 9/10/10? You probably did ok with the application. Just wait and see. Keep us informed.

finding little things I did wrong.

Ha ha! Yeah I did the same thing with ALL the petitions I sent in. Turned out I didn't have to worry. NO need write out the date on the check. All other places where the date is asked for you should write out the date. Ex 09/11/2010.

LOTS of people have even written USCIS :bonk: instead of US Dep. of Homeland Security and the checks were cashed.

I am sure the way your wrote the date is fine, keep an eye out for the NOA1 and the reciept number so u can sgin up online and check status :thumbs:

The ONE thing that USCIS is really good at is cashing your check!

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Yes, this is the part of the process they don't hesitate on. :lol: After that, they'll neglect you for awhile.

Haha, that's what I've noticed too after reading through this website so much...I'll be looking out for the check to be cashed & receiving the NOA1- I did include one of the forms that ask for text/email updates so we'll see when that happens. Thanks for all the support! And now....we wait....

Same here, but just a few days earlier... Anyway, they haven't cashed our check, but I doubt it'll take too long before that happens, considering that a couple here, from VJ, who had their petition delivered in TX on September 8, 2010, was just notified these days that the I-129F package was forwarded to CSC. We really hope they cash our check today and they forward our petition to VSC tomorrow. I can't wait to have our NOA1. Good luck to all of us here!
