Hello people...

Its me again, and I know I am being a pain ... but I cant help being a lil impatient.

I went on my biometrics appointment on February 7th, everything went quite well, they were all nice, and I got my biometrics done for AOS, EAD and they included my AP receipt number in the data entered. When it was all done, the guy told me that the stamp on the back on my Biometrics letter was the date of my receipt, I thought oh well... this is the date that will be shown in the NOA or something like that.

My question is, after biometrics, my case hasn't been updated, no change, no touch, nothing....

Is this normal?? dont you get your dates changed after biometrics??? should I make an infopass and ask them about the status of my case?? I am getting anstsy of being home. My savings are running out, I need to start working!! (I know this is the same song you all have heard before, but I am starting to get a lil desperate)...

Please if someone can clarify this for me... I'd really appreciate it.

Wow! You want case status change - what else you want? You want Fries with that! I have gone through AOS interview and biometrics - both done yesterday - and to today I have the same status that we have had since October. "Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on October 28, 2005. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete." So! I never understood what the case status info did (I also never received an email from USCIS - I had set it up also!) Maybe they update it for some and not for others. Good Luck

Marina (K-1) received an e-mail/case status update about 2 weeks after the biometrics were completed. Carina (K-2) had biometrics done the same day/same office as Marina but did NOT receive an update on her case. It has been sitting on 1/5/2005 (AOS application received) despite the fact that she received an interview notice and completed the interview on 10/25/2005. Now we have been waiting for the dreaded FBI name check for Carina (Marina has received her green card already) with no end in site and the fingerprints will expire end of March.

My theory?

If the biometrics is not showing received within a reasonable time (I would give it 30 days max) then it could indicate a problem. Call the mis-information line and find out what is going on.

Good Luck!

Dave

Thanks to all for the guidance and support and speedy processing to all!

Don't depend so much on your cases updates. Mine didn't change for awhile after the biometrics. Now my case is approved and it STILL didn't change for a few days after.

I wouldn't make an infopass appointment about this. USCIS just seems to be backlogged and not on top of things, so it may take awhile for things to change in your online portfolio.

Good luck with everything!

Thanks...

I didnt mean to upset anyone, I know my case hasnt been as bad as other people's...

But I had heard of someone's case changing after biometrics... and some other people hadnt mentioned it. I know I just have to wait. But it's soooooooo boring...LOL... and I wish I could start working. Since I do have a job waiting for just the EAD I guess that makes me a lil impatient.

Thanks everyone for their responses...

My case status was never updated after my Biometrics, it always stated the infamous:"Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on xxxxxxx, 2005, bla bla bla".

My suggestion is, don't worry too much about it, my message wasn't updated until after the approval, so obviously the online status is not always accurate. If you really want to know about your Biometrics results, call the FP number (if you don't have it I'll give it to you) and ask about it. That's what I did, and they told me my FP were received and sent back to INS the same day, even though I never got an online update about it.

Good luck!

My husband's AOS online status has not changed since December 2004 eventhough we had our AOS interview, and he had his fingerprints done again in February. We are waiting on the FBI name check, so I don't know if that's why ours wasn't updated.

I may also add that my husband's AP didn't even show up online until it was approved.

You not receiving an update could be as simple as someone just not updating the system.

i did my biometrics 1st week of january and i noticed they changed the date 5 days

after and then by the end of the 3rd week i received a notice that i had to

repeat my fingerprinting. and the dates never changed since the first biometrics.

funny thing is when i had my ead approved and got my card they touched it twice.

oh and if you haven't gotten your ssn yet, the ssa gave me a note before i left their

office that they have to check my ead card/documnets with the agency that issued

them and this will take FOUR WEEKS. see even if i have the card but no ssn , i can't

start working.

Rob&Ana,

A couple of things. First, I was informed by an Immigration Officer at USCIS that the online tracking system is only about 80% accurate. It's not the official database that is used by the USCIS. The information is entered into their main database and then downloaded to the tracking system periodically. I wouldn't be too concerned about this. I also had him check my cases and all were in their system even though they didn't appear in the tracking system yet.

Also, My wife had here biometrics appointment in Pittsburgh on February 8th, one day after your's. The case was just updated on February 19th. Check again...maybe your's has been updated as well. Don't worry and good luck...all is progressing as it should.
