That's not conclusive. You know as well as I do that there are people even on this board whose spelling and grammar would 'give them away' too and they're the USC.

Nonetheless, my guess was correct.

Amen. :)

What many people seem to forget is that we have the RIGHT to dislike whomever we choose. I can hate pedophiles, drunk drivers, Muslims, Christians, Barney the Dinosaur, and Hospice workers if I want to, and not a damn one of you can tell me that I'm wrong for doing so. Who I love, hate, trust, distrust, admire, and revile is my own personal opinion. No one has the right to tell me I need to change how I feel.

You hate Barney the Dinosaur??! :o

I don't think that just because someone is of a particular religion that they should have special treatment and the benefit of not having to learn to get along with others who don't think like them. Notice that's phrased so it goes both ways.

I figure if I have to put up with all the religious ####### I see in my non-religious space, y'all can figure out how to live with one another too.

(Barring that, I'll take Washington.)

:P

See I have no problem living with anybody. I have friends of every race and religion. I also work with people of every race and religion. Yet when I go to certain places, I do hear comments and get starred it. That's not cool. I experience racism on an everyday bases. In life, on TV, Even by Mr. pres. Bush. The thing is I don't really care. I'm not going to let some low life, racist, pig get to me. That is not how I do things.

Putting up with prejudice and racism sucks. However, I don't see how "not letting some low life, racist, pig get to you" equates with having a few states. Separation and segregation is not the solution.

I've been discriminated against more than once. To me, not letting them get to me doesn't mean I get to isolate them from me and me from them. It means letting go of someone else's small-mindedness and accepting that I can't change anyone else, only myself.

How do you know I wasn't born here.

Your spelling / grammar gives that away.

That's not conclusive. You know as well as I do that there are people even on this board whose spelling and grammar would 'give them away' too and they're the USC.

Guilty

I didn't read this whole thread. My ADD started kicking in but if the "American people" don't want to live amongs us Muslims, Then Just Give us a couple of States. We will Tak Michigan and Texas. Then we will leave all the "Americans" by alone. They don't have to be our Neighbors.

Hey, here is the rule! If someone don't like get them back by not licking them either. If someone don't like me because of my Ethnicity or Religion, then they are not worth the spit off the bottom of my shoe. They can jump of a cliff for all I care. But nobody is going to take away my civil rights or my God given rights as a human being.

No, the problem is that the muslims do not like to live amongst us. Get along or get out.

Even this thread proves the prejudice of people here in the states. If people would just get educated, it would not be the case. Are muslims bad people? NO, Islam is based on peace. Is there bad muslims using Islam as their justification? Yes. Are there things that can be taken out of context to justify their actions? This is what the extremist/terrorist does. Just as Christians did so many years ago.

Everyone is an individual. Skin color, language, or religions should never be used to resent someone you dont know.

wolf

I haven't had the chance to read all of this thread yet, but I did want to say this response resonates with me - education is a wonderful thing and there are a lot of people who need to get a better education, especially about people. We have as much to fear from 'home-grown' terrorists as we do from foreign ones and to immediately prejudge someone who looks different from ourselves is returning us to the dark ages - or to a frighteningly Orwellian future.

We as individuals and as a society will be healthier and happier when we are able to avoid stereotyping. It is hard not to make some sort of decision or judgement or evaluation about others, so if we have to, it should be based on who an individual proves himself to be by his words and actions. We should not assume that everyone who looks like him is the same as him. We should not assume that all Muslims are terrorists - or all Christians are 'born again' - or all blacks are violent or all whites are racist. Instead of viewing our differences as liabilities, perhaps we would find ourselves better off if we viewed them as strengths and took the trouble to learn more about each other and see the benefits of being different.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
