What many people seem to forget is that we have the RIGHT to dislike whomever we choose. I can hate pedophiles, drunk drivers, Muslims, Christians, Barney the Dinosaur, and Hospice workers if I want to, and not a damn one of you can tell me that I'm wrong for doing so. Who I love, hate, trust, distrust, admire, and revile is my own personal opinion. No one has the right to tell me I need to change how I feel.

Hate, dislike, and suspicion are valid feelings and are of no concern to anyone else. ACTIONS based upon those feelings however are when others become involved. I can sit here and hate muslims all I want. Until I turn that to action and plot to harm some, or actually do harm them, it's no one else's problem.

If I want to believe that Islam is a relgion of hate, that's my right. If I want to believe that Christians are close-minded, spineless sheep, that is also my right. No one can tell me that I'm not allowed to feel this way.

I have a good solution to this problem.

First, if a person attempts or carries out a terror attack on the United States, all immigration from that country will be suspended for one year per person from that country.

I.E. 19 Saudi terrorists = 19 years of NO Saudi immigration to the United States unless they want to talk to us about $10 a barrel oil.

Second, any man/woman preaching the use of mass VIOLENCE/TERROR tactics against American citizens or having any implication in a terror plot will, after trial, be stripped of their citizenship and deported.

Third, any person publically praising the DESTRUCTION of the United States of America, or publically praising those who have killed Americans will be charged with sedition and imprisoned for a period of no less than 5 years. If the person is not a citizen, the sentance will be 10 years followed by deportion.

Fourth, any organization whose leadership promotes the formation of a religious state/government in the United States of America or promotes violence against American citizens will immediatly be labeled as a terrorist organization and the members responsible will be jailed for sedition.

Seeing as I am a man of comprimise I have some concessions to make as well.

One, the United States of America will cut off all fianancial and military aid to the state of Israel.

Two, the United States of America will instate a trade embargo on Israel unless they provide immediate due process to ALL persons currently imprisoned, and will be subject to US/UN inspections to make sure this is carried out.

Three, the United States of America will hold trail for all prisoners currently imprisoned in Club Gitmo (in which they will be released to the country of their arrest or given a sentance followed by deportation) within a period of 24 months.

Four, military equipment/ foreign aid will only be provided to Israel provided that they conform to item two in its complete form.

If 39% of our country don't mind throwing out the constitutional rights of our fellow citizens, what's next? Internment? Indeed, why stop at Muslims? In this climate of fear, every outsider is seen as a potential threat. But who are the real Americans and who are the outsiders?

Like the remaining 61%, I will not sit quietly and let this infectious disease of fear and mistrust contaminate my soul or destroy my country.

Carolyn Zezima

100% of our country have lost our constitutional rights. Hating someone does not take away the hated groups rights. But when this government promotes "this climate of fear, every outsider is seen as a potential threat. But who are the real Americans and who are the outsiders?" Well thanks to President Bush and the Congress everyone is an outsider--we are all treated as potential threats--regardless of potential risk or background. Maybe it would be cheaper and more secure to put ankle monitoring GPS devices on every one living in the USA, regardless of immigration status, origin, sex, race, religion, or sexual orientation. And have everyone searched as they wake up in the morning--therefore clearing each and everyone as a safe and secure "real American." This tactic is already being done though in a much more clandestine way.

And the 61% who do not hate muslims--well they don't seem to be doing anything to turn the tide of mistrust and fear--indeed more than 61% seem to just go with the flow and accept whatever new law or presidental decree to fight the war on terrorism. Sitting quietly--allowing the infectious disease of government corruption to destroy our constitution and our country.

In accordance with Georgia law, "The Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act," I am required to display the following in any and all languages that I may give immigration related advise:

'I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW AND MAY NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE OR ACCEPT FEES FOR LEGAL ADVICE.'

"NO SOY ABOGADO LICENCIADO PRACTICAR LEY Y NO PUEDO DOY ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO O ACEPTO LOS HONORARIOS PARA El ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO."

The difference is, if you as a non-religious person decide this is how you want to live your life you are not bound by any church dictates or religious dogma to do so. A religious person may have a similar right, but they're accountable to their god(s) (or presumably would feel they are), and due to the vocal and public nature of extolling said beliefs, will be held accountable by others for them too. Not to mention many religious people being more than vocal against your choices because it doesn't fit their paradigm of right and wrong. ;)

The only beauty at the end is when they really don't believe that you don't care.

Aye, I agree. "Free your mind...." LOL

I answer to my own conscience only.

Thanks for the comments though. I'm glad one of my comments came across as it was intended and without a lot of drama. Maybe my self-imposed wording exercises have helped a bit. LOL

Good point. In her world, only Xians have rights, and only if they believe as she does. I don't have the right to wear cheap sandals from WalMart because the 'Fisher of Men' would only wear Birkenstocks.

Speaking of that......

"Fishers of men" (which is indeed a phrase from the Bible) = locate your prey, then suddenly rip them out of their comfortable environment, and leave them flopping and flailing on the banks to slowly die. Then devour them. Seems like an apt analogy for evangelical religions to me...

Thanks for that....

Clicking the first link completely locked up Firefox, requiring I run my handy-dandy "Kill Script".

(Yes, I'm lazy....rather than open task manager and kill applications from there, I have a collection of VB scripts on my desktop to kill various programs. Can you say "Geek"?)

First, if a person attempts or carries out a terror attack on the United States, all immigration from that country will be suspended for one year per person from that country.

What will you do in the case of acts of domestic terrorism carried out by United States Citizens?

unless they want to talk to us about $10 a barrel oil.

So, your plan has bribery and corruption built in at the lowest level.

Second, any man/woman preaching the use of mass VIOLENCE/TERROR tactics against American citizens or having any implication in a terror plot will, after trial, be stripped of their citizenship and deported.

So, i) You will remove the constitutional right to free speech the USA enjoys and ii) you will strip people of their citizenship and deport them after the trial . . . making no reference to the result of said trial. So, if the person is found innocent, the implication is they will still be deported.

Sounds like you just destroyed due process too.

Third, any person publically praising the DESTRUCTION of the United States of America, or publically praising those who have killed Americans will be charged with sedition and imprisoned for a period of no less than 5 years.

Charged and imprisoned - no mention of a trial. Due process just vanished again, along with free speech.

If the person is not a citizen, the sentance will be 10 years followed by deportion.

So, no reference to a trial again - you are now holding citizens of a foreign power without trial. The USA does have a good track record with this, to be fair, and has been doing it for some time.

You are also now punishing the non-US citizens more harshly than your own citizens - that is racism and in direct opposition to the words "All men are created equal".

Fourth, any organization whose leadership promotes the formation of a religious state/government in the United States of America or promotes violence against American citizens will immediatly be labeled as a terrorist organization and the members responsible will be jailed for sedition.

Not be tried for sedition? Just jailed? Again, violation of free speech and due process.

One, the United States of America will cut off all fianancial and military aid to the state of Israel.

A good idea.

Two, the United States of America will instate a trade embargo on Israel unless they provide immediate due process to ALL persons currently imprisoned, and will be subject to US/UN inspections to make sure this is carried out.

So, the US (who have several people imprisoned without charge or trial) and who (according to the rest of your suggestions) have abandoned due process, will determine "due process"?

Three, the United States of America will hold trail for all prisoners currently imprisoned in Club Gitmo (in which they will be released to the country of their arrest or given a sentance followed by deportation) within a period of 24 months.

Oh, good - so, the people currently arrested get trials, but no-one else?

Four, military equipment/ foreign aid will only be provided to Israel provided that they conform to item two in its complete form.

What's the worry about Israel? How about the support to the right-wing rebels in South America and the anti-Islamics in Africa? How about them?

Your policies sound populist - and would certainly get votes from middle American soccer moms. You would certainly get to Congress with them - but you have just trampled over the things that make your nation what it is.

I am moving to the USA - despite the fact I consider the central premise of the Constitution to be a hideous and horrible one. The US Constitution is a terrible document and if I could destroy it, I would.

But, it is what makes your nation what it is. Without it, you wouldn't be the USA.

Now, do you really think your country can be saved by destroying what she is? I don't.

Of course, I don't think your country as she stands is worth saving - but neither will I raise a hand against her. Because, despite the fact I detest the concept of unilateral and unrestricted freedom implied by the Constitution, I do accept that a foreign power has a right to self-determination and to act as she wishes.

But your policies would make the USA into 48 contiguous States, a few islands and an ex-bit of Canada bound by something else - she certainly wouldn't be the USA any longer.

I don't like her, but I won't stand idly by while you plot her assassination.

If you don't like "her", then why are you moving here? Wouldn't it make more sense for your SO to move wherever you are?

Guessing your country doesn't believe in unilateral and unrestricted freedom....

How rude of the founders of the US to want to be free.
