Check was cashed/cancelled 6/14, e-notice received 6/15 @ 2:28AM, weird! These are all electronically generated. But 1-day apart, then wait 7-10 days which generally does not take that long, give it 5 days max.

See our signature - we received the reciept number via text message the day after our check was cashed. The NOA arrived a week after the check was cashed.

The form is used to notify applicants that the application has been accepted, the e-notice will also indicate your case/app number. Cashing the check does not mean otherwise. If G-1145 was sent along with your N400, you should have gotten a notice that your app was received and accepted and provided your case number while you wait for the NOA in the mail.

Below is a sample copy of the e-notice:

Dear Applicant/Petitioner:

Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxxxx. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your application/petition. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your application remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your application/petition must be verified with USCIS.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE

My fiance recieved an e-mail like that and a text message on September 1st and then recieved the NOA on September 4th. We tried the NBC*xxxxxxxxx

number to track the case but it says your case can not be found at this time in Case Status and I was wondering if that is normal or not.

You will receive a receipt with NBC or WAC, depends where u filing ur application.

when u receive this letter. u will find on the left side a case number. that is ur case number and i am submitting a receipt letter and i marked the case number with red so u can understand better where to find it. so now u found it CONGRATS, what to do now?

if u wanna check ur status online all what u need to do is.

to visit www.uscis.gov to check status online. then write there the 13 digit of ur case number including the WAC, or MBC. and the rest of the numbers but wait dont add the dashes - for example ur case number is WAC-123-123-1234 write them like this WAC1231231234

Good Luck. Oh dont forget to click on the picture so u can see it better

Thanks for the details Sand.

We used to check online daily until the interview notice came. Any time the date changes on the online status, that means someone was working on the case, even if no changes occur - so we say it was "touched". Once you know the receipt number, you can sign up here:
