Technology is moving quickly towards everything going digital. I'm just curious how many here still watch movies on DVD? VHS? Do you watch movies that stream off the internet and if you do, do you hook up your connection to your TV or just watch on your computer?

hmmmm...blu-ray through netflix by mail. I was watching netflix instant movies through the wii until I realized my tv and blu-ray player both have wifi capabilities so now I watch them through the tv and don't have to mess with the wii disc anymore. sometimes I watch stuff through cable with the on demand feature.

Netflix DVDs. And netflix online, we hook up the laptop to play it through the TV. Or if one happens to come on TV that I want to see.

We just restarted our Netflix membership after a two year hiatus and I am amazed at how many movies they now have available for instant viewing. I'm using an s-video cable from my laptop to our TV and then a wire from the headphone outlet to just the right side audio of the TV. It works ok, but I need to get an audio cable that splits from a single into a left and right.

Our first streaming movie was Ponyo. If you haven't watched that with Kavi, I'd highly recommend it. I think you'd love it too. :)

Mostly on premium cable channels and through our cable providers ondemand service.

Do you ever pay for movies through your cable provider? Because you could save a lot by going through Netflix...just sayin.

Through the Wii??? You mean it plays DVD movies or that you are watching instant movies on the Wii? Because I tried to the other day and it said the hardware doesn't support it.

Whoah! Somebody explain to me how I can watch instant movies through the Wii? I get a message saying that my hardware (Wii) doesn't support it.

Usually on demand through our cable. Our DVD player broke and I haven't gotten around to getting a new one. I watch movies so rarely nowadays that $4.99 isn't so bad. Plus, I don't have to plan in advance - a lot of times movie watching is very spur of the moment and then you want to be able to pick something on the fly depending on your mood. I might look into Netflix on the PC.

Dude if you have Netflix... they have a link that offers the Wii feature. You 'sign up' for it and they mail you the disk, that installs the additional driver to let the Wii do this... and then you use the disk in the Wii as if you were going to play a game.

The movies are on their database... the Wii you use as a wireless device.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

netflix.com/wii (I think) if you're signed into your account you can request a disc to be sent. the disc has to be in the wii to play movies through it. then when you get the disc you put it in the wii and it will give you a code to go to the computer and type into your netflix account to activate the disc to your account. your whole watch instant list pops up plus other categories.

Wow I didn't need a code. It activated since the Wii I already had configured via Wifi... so it connected itself.

netflix gives you a code to activate your disc. both wii systems I used were already configured for the wifi and I had to do it both times. I had to do it a second time on one of them after not using it in there for a few months.

Thanks. I was thrown off by the online message that said the hardware doesn't support it. I just ordered the disk! No more plugging my laptop into my TV set!
