It been all most 7 months since I have filed petition for my fiancee and I have not received any letters such as REF or approval letter. I inquiry through the state senator's office and today I got the letter from State senator's office stating that USCIS has told them that my case is still pending due to background checks not complete. So they will make the decision with in 60 days. Dose they really mean 60 days or they can take longer or less then that? It's pretty confusing situation. How truthful are the USCIS employess are on their word? Anyone had same situation, please share.

Processing times are average time-frames. There is no way that you could be certain on when your case will be transferred between departments. All cases are different and have different priority status. The reason that this "time frame" is relevent to you, is that this marks the date you are allowed to call customer service and ask for an update. You will be given yet another "time frame" that is not gaureented either. The longest I had in processing was after the THIRD "time frame" was given to me they then responded to me that there was no longer a time frame for my case and they will contact me not vise versa.

Again this is an average based on volumes at the centers or other departments, some are lucky and are through prior to that date and some aren't.

If I could be anything, I would be a tear.
