Well, Charles is arguing semantics. An involuntary discharge, IMO, is synonymous with being fired in the civilian world.

Here's commentary from a Military Attorney:

i'm sure there's a host of jobs that also include as a perk, their very own prison too. :hehe:

Steven wins another one.

what was won? what was lost? And did the French Revolution, in fact, occur before the American Revolution and influence our constitution? Steven says "YES".

All a moot point and not even on the topic Steven initially mentioned. Great stuff. All the more reason to go back to the K-1 forum and answer who to make the check out to for the I-129f...for the 237,000th time. It is about as interesting as the Obama hacks around here.

The problem with "don't ask, Don't tell" was, and always has been, that you cannot make anything else a condition of continuing a contract if you don't tell about it. "You are too fat to be in the military, unless you don't tell us and we don't ask how fat you are." Brilliant. Gays are fine as soldiers IF they do not tell us they are gay and we don't ask. Who thought of that BS? If they are OK as soldiers, then let it be. If they are not OK as soldiers, then state why and ban them from military service. There is NO WAY they can be "OK" but only if they don't tell us.

The whole DADT system was nothing but mealy mouthed pandering to gays by spineless Bill Clinton. Either take a stand and BAN gays and state WHY you ban gays and what is gained by banning gays, back it up with specifics and data...or STFU and GTF OUT!
