Hi all,

I got redirected to this forum as the best place to ask an AOS question, I guess you're the experts!

I'm from the UK and my US husband and I are in Atlanta. We filed our i-130, i-485 and related forms as a package on 08/12/2010 and received the letter saying that they had been arrived at the Chicago Lockbox. We're currently waiting for our biometrics and interview times. My husband travels for work and needs to know in advance how quickly he'll need to be back here at our Service Centre for the interview. How many days/weeks advanced notice will they give us for our interview?

(i.e. will they tell us a 3 days, or 3 weeks before when our interview time will be? What's the minimum warning for the interview we should expect in case he has to rush back?)

Another smaller question: It's a month since they received our package - any clues how long till my biometrics apppointment?

Many thanks

That is the official answer although we got the letter for our Biometrics a week before the appointment, and it wasn't delayed in the mail or anything.

Hi there, did you get your NOAs for each application (I-130, I-485, I-765)?

Usually your biometrics are scheduled within 1-1.5 months, but this may vary. I hope you know that you don't need your spouse to come with you for your biometrics appointment.

The interview letter will come 3-4 weeks in advance and for that I am sure you know, both of you need to be present. I suggest you to not change your interview date for any reason, or you might experience major delays on your case. Good luck!

Hi there,

We got our receipts on August 12 but still no biometrics appointment... I wonder if you got yours yet? When I rang today we got a non-robot who answered the phone - an interested helpline lady - who said that she would send a service request as we'd waited past the 30 days.

Hope your process is running smoothly!

Might I suggest you join the August filers thread in the progress reports subforum here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/267366-august-2010-filers/

The more people there are the more you can get a sense of what is happening with this type of case. Good luck!
