I was surprised they sent me the interview letter so soon too! My 90 day mark (since I sent my AOS package) would be on December 15th, and my scheduled interview is on the 16th. I was expecting to just get my EAD by then since the processing time for that is around 90 days. I'm just thanking God that I didn't get any RFE's or anything to delay the processing!

Thats great!!! Did your status change on the Uscis website or does it still say Initial Review?

Nope. The status is still the same on the website under "Initial Review". I sent my I-102 w/ my AOS package too to replace my I-94 and it was approved on October 20th and they already sent me the replacement I-94 a few weeks ago but the status is still under "Post Decision Activity" so I guess they just don't really update those statuses very often

Yes, it seems the case status online on the USCIS website isn't very accurate. At first, it updated a bit and corresponded to my NOAs and biometrics, but now I have received an interview appointment and it hasn't changed status in a month, for anything! I am nervous about my advanced parole and EAD, but since my interview will be before the 90 days, I hope everything goes smooth and I don't have to worry about chasing USCIS during the holidays!!

AOS timeline:

Mailed AOS packet on Sept. 9 2010

Day 2 - USPS tracking confirms delivery.

Day 6 - Return receipt from Chicago Lockbox received.

Day 8 - Text/email alerts received.

Day 9 - Checks cashed.

Day 11 - NOA1 received (all forms).

Day 16 - Biometrics appointment notice received.

Day 40 - Biometrics completed.

Day 53 - Initial interview appointment notice received.

Day 59 - EAD card production notice email/text received.

Day 70 - AP document received.

Day 72 - EAD card received.

Day 85 - Interview. Verbal approval received.

If we get approved at the interview before we receive our EAD's in the mail, will they still send us an EAD AND the Green Card or will they just send us the Green Card and not even bother with the EAD anymore?

A friend of mine received her EAD card whilst waiting for her upcoming interview. Also from reading some of the threads some persons got theirs while waiting too. Some say the IO told them to cut it up and discard of it properly to avoid fraudulent use. If you get your greencard there is no use for the EAD as the greencard is the ultimate prize. :star:

I was wondering about that. I received an email about EAD card production ordered, but I'm currently working on an EAD that expires in January 2011, and my interview will be in December. Assuming everything goes well in the interview, I won't be needing the EAD! Good thing filing for an EAD and AP is included in the AOS fee when filed concurrently or we'd be out quite a bit of cash!

Thank you! They are very excited about this. On the letter, it says to bring an interpreter. I am not sure if this is needed, since my two cousin speak perfect English. Can they be interpreters to their parents? My mother petitioned for her sister, does she need to go to the interview? I know if it's a spouse or a future spouse, the petitioner needs to go.

Congratz! Good luck to your aunt and her famz
