Moving Question

Darcy and I are still trying to figure out how to get him here. :P With all the flights he will have to take, hotels, and the shipping of his stuff is equaling to be alot of money. Darcy had a thought and I just wondering if it would work. I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on this. Currently Darcy's stuff is in storage in Winnipeg (he lives in Kelowna now). We thought about leaving it there and just pay monthly storage fees until he can get advanced parole and we can then drive up and get it. Do you think there would be an issue with that? I am not sure how that would go over with coming back through customs. I told him to contact customs and ask because I really don't have any knowledge of this.

Thanks for any help you can give us on this!

Jen I think he has 10 years to bring his stuff. I am going back to get my stuff this weekend and I came in last week activating my visa. I'll let you know if I have any problems.

Feb. 15/ 07 --- GC approved

Nov. 17/09 -- I-751 sent (Day 1)

03/03/08 - Infopass - where the heck is my AOS interview?? No one knows!

We should start a group to get everyone's things down together on one huge truck, because yes, it certainly does get pricey!!! Sorry, I have no real help for you though, except to echo that I too read that he has up to 10 years to bring his things down.

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

well, i'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see how you make out Buttons as i had the same plan for my stuff that i'm storing at my sisters place. also i've been told by the moving companies i'd contacted that it may be cheaper to ship in the winter as they are not as busy and often will lower the minimums.
