My fiancee signed her name on her G-325A form using kanji. This is the way she has always signed her name in Japan and even on credit cards here in the US.

Will this be a problem with the USCIS?

All information boxes have been filled out in English (typed).

09/16/10 - NOA1 (Letter Received 09/24/10)

All information boxes have been filled out in English (typed).

It's fine. Signatures are never transcribed into a computer, other than possibly scanning an image of it. A person's signature is what it is. My signature is not remotely identifiable as any form of western script, and it's never been questioned.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

No. Alla uses some form of Alien (as it outer space alien) alphabet for her signature. It is best described as a "squiggle" It has been accepted for all USCIS documents. I suspect it is based on some distortion of the Cyrillic alphabet. There is no need for her to change her signature...ever.

A signature is a signature, there is no requirement for it to be legible at all.

i know on my man's new japan passport they FORCED him to sign in english cursive, no kanji allowed.

don't know about documents, but it may be a good idea to sign in cursive next to the kanji to be safe.
