i received this: Post Decision Activity

On August 24, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Are you the US citizen petitioner or the foreign beneficiary? Are you currently in the US, or are you in Jamaica as your profile indicates?

If you're the beneficiary, and you're in Jamaica, don't get too excited - there's a lot left to do before you'll be notified that you can apply for a visa at the embassy.

This is what happens after the National Visa Center (NVC) receives the approved I-130:

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Hold on there, chief!

What visa category are you applying for? If it's an IR2 then yeah, it's possible to be finished in six months. Depends on how fast everyone is; you and your dad with returning the paperwork, the NCV with processing the paperwork, and the consulate with scheduling the interview. If it's an FB-1, FB-2B, or FB-3 then you might have to wait until your priority date is current before you'll be eligible to apply for the visa.
