My wife had a cut on her finger and we had to reschedule her biometrics. If anyone has any familiarity with rescheduling a bio appointment, could you tell me approximately how long it took to receive notice of your rescheduled appointment?

I received a letter on December 19th for a biometrics appointment on December 29th, but since we had already purchased flight tickets to Houston and would not be back until December 30, I hand-dellivered the letter requesting a reschedule to the Application Support Centre on December 21st. I called the information line on January 4th to ensure that the letter had been acknowledged since I didn't get a receipt and I was worried something might have happened. They advised me that the local office has 30 days to set up another appointment. I received my new appointment letter (for February 8th) the very next day on Jan 5th so was quite pleased with how quickly they processed the request. This is for a case that was transferred to CSC with the biometrics being done in the Atlanta Support Center. Hope this information is of help to you.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hello you two. My wife has the same problem. She cut her thumb pretty good a few days ago so I guess her Tuesday Biometrics appointment is not going to work for us. So whom did you write exactly to change your appoinments? We live in Phoenix so should we just write the Phoenix office or something? Any help you could give would be most appreciated?

Thank You,

Doug

Hi Doug,

We wrote to our local office, the same one that the appointment was scheduled at. Sent a cover letter and copies of the NOA's / Appointment schedule.

Thanks for the reply but after giving it some thought I decided it best to just go on down there today (today is the appt). She has healed some maybe she will slide on by although I doubt it, but what the hey might as well try. Besides I already arranged for the second half of the day off so I guess we will just spend some quality time together :P .

I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

BTW Our stuff still does not show up on the USCIS status check site.

Here is the update I promised.

Well yesterday went better than expected. We arrived at a little before her appt time of 10am. This is in Phoenix BTW. Anyway we showed the letter to the guard and he gave us a general form to fill out. Then we stood in line for about 15 minuites before speaking to a nice fellow. He took the form, appt letter, and asked for her ID. When he saw that it was in her madien name he asked for proof of our marriage??? I said that in order to get the appt letter I had to send in this proof for the I-485. He arranged for us to speak with a QA rep but beore this I had Marina show him her boo boo on her thumb which by the way is in noway healed. He called a different QA woman who after talking to a super determined that they could do the Bio anyway, very cool! So they sent us to wait to be called by the QA lady. She called us in about 10 min. She wanted proof of our marriage which I apologized for not having but it just never crossed my mind besides neither the I-485 or Appt Letter mentioned bringing this although it mentioned other ID's to bring. Well she was willing to work with us and she accepted Marina's medical ID card with new (married name) as proof of marriage. Ok that is cool. So to all you folks that got married (we all did to get this far, duh??) remember to bring a copy of your marriage cert for them to ponder over.

Next we waited about 1/2 hour before Marinas number was called. Then she went to the back room for about 15 minuites, got printed and photographed and it was over. BTW they did stamp our appt letter with a QA thingamajiggy. No other info about what comes next.

Just another step down the path to residency.

Have a good one,

Doug :P
