If they receive an interview date now or within the next few days, Julian will only attribute that to his call to the MP. Nevermind that it was on schedule anyway.

Just call your MP and stop plaguing us with your insufferableness.

?

Julian & Melissa broke up for awhile, so now its the fault of USCIS that they've had to wait over a year to get the K1.

For the same reasons your President Bush sought the approval of the British government before he invaded Iraq.

But thanks for the typical narrow-minded American response, I've been expecting it.

If this is how you view responses that does not agree with your HIGH minded British attitude, then trust me to tell you this, that You do not want to live in the Good old narrow mined US.

I see. So, the MP is under the impression that they've been waiting since the original, voluntarily withdrawn petition was submitted? Uh oh.

No I think Julian made it clear that they've been waiting since April, but still thinks it's 'absolutely ridiculous' or whatever. He and Melissa just feel since they were originally going to apply over a year ago, but chose not to for personal reasons, they're entitled to their visa being granted quickly.

Guess that means all of us that were unable to apply right away due to divorce decrees, access to children, insufficient funds etc are entitled to have it easier too. :)

So there was no earlier petition?

Let me explain a few things here. We don't feel we should get special treatment because we decided not to file last year. I'm just upset because it feels like we've been waiting forever BECAUSE we decided to delay filing. We broke up for a while and got back together, and that's why it has taken us over a year from when we first thought we were going to file. Julian is just trying to do whatever he can to make things speed up, isn't that what everyone wants to do? And just because things were one way for YOU when you asked for someone to intervene doesn't mean it will be the same way for me, whoever it is that you know.

All we're doing is what everyone does -- we're doing things to male it go faster. Why doesnt anyone have any compassion for that? You were where I am once.

I don't see why you're taking this so personally, marlea. This is MY case, not yours. If you don't like what we're doing, please don't read this thread or keep your opinions to yourself. I dont get why you even care so much.

Marlea dear, if you're so sure my MP won't have any impact on our case, then why are you being so vocal? It's obvious that you don't even care about us, so if you really think they'll toss us to the back of the queue then why all the noise? Your vocal opposition to anything either Melissa or I has to say tells me one thing, which is simply that you're jealous that I'm exploring an avenue you hadn't thought to, and you secretly think it might just work.

And by the way, leave Melissa be please. It wasn't her idea to have my MP expedite our processing, it was mine. She barely even knows what an MP is.

1. I'm being vocal because I don't like when people think they are entitled to something when they are not.

2. What, in heaven's name, am I jealous of? We have an interview date. It's just over two weeks away, which means that my fiance will likely have his visa long before you do.

3. Secretly work? When have you ever seen the US government or the UK government do something quickly? Your tantrum late on a Friday afternoon won't change that.

I'll refrain from commenting on your insult toward Melissa.

People do this all the time though! They ask for interview dates to be moved for example. I have read a LOT of old posts on here and I have seen more than a couple of people contact the Embassy to get a date changed to be sooner. We're not cheating or doing anything wrong, we're just trying to get things done.

I'm taking it personally because I don't like when people try to buy, talk or cheat their way around the rules. The rest of us are doing what was asked of us, and you should to. I've seen both of you go on and on about how hard you have it for months now, completely unaware at how good you have it. I care so much because, if you and Julian had it your way, he would jump the queue and have his interview before me, Dodi, Rob & Jill and all of the many others on this board who have been trying to wait patiently. And I think that is incredibly unfair of you both. You are both basically saying that you are more important that the rest of us, that you deserve a visa faster than we do, and that isn't true. That's why I'm taking in personally, because by behaving the way you both are, you are inadvertently (or possibly intentionally) being very disrespectful to the rest of us who are trying to follow the rules.

I see. So your objection isn't just that I am attempting to use my MP's influence within your state department to see what the hold up is on our case, but that I am unfairly trying to influence a process that should be a completely level pitch.

So where is your righteous indignation towards those of us who pray to the Lord for His intervention? We are, after all, attempting to tilt the process in our favour. How unfair!

I say again: if you don't think it's going to work, then what's the problem? Would you be so upset if I were to ask my Aunty to call on my behalf? No, I don't think you would. You're upset about this because you think it might work, and just maybe if your own fiance had thought to do this, he'd already be with you by now.

I wasn't insulting Melissa. She's going to be my wife for ####'s sake.
