Hey guys

Its 8 months now since my NOA1 , For sure after 6 months were up and no response my wife have made inquiries to see why my case is taking long , They said that they are only waiting for the background check so they can make a decision and it takes up to 180 days,in July they've sent me another NOA called Replacement receipt and it says that USCIS confirms me that they received my case O.O !!! They just received my case?????.anyways in the first of Augest my wife have contacted her Congressman and he and said that he believes that its taking too long and he is making inquiries for us and will let us know if they heard anything.....10 days after ....Congressman didn't hear anything from USCIS...20 more days....they still didn't hear anything and if they heard anything they will let us know.its been a month now.

My questions are,

1-How long does it take for Congressman to respond to USCIS?

2-Should we contact the senator ?

3-Can my lawyer do anything?

4-Can my wife meet someone there or make "infopass" appointment ?

5-Its about 50 days since they told me to wait 180 days for background check ,How long do you think its gonna take for a response ?

6- What would you do if you were me guys?

Any advice will be Appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance .

Sam

if I were in yer shoes...

I'd sweet-talk my wife into contacting the Immigration Liason Staffer at the Senator's office, and inquiring for the 'status of the Inquiry'

and then calling back, each day, to remind the ILS to contact USCIS to get any status.

But that's just me.

I am sorry to hear about your situation.

My story: My ex-fiance sent the I-129F on May 29 last year. He got the NOA1 on June 1 and the NOA2 had the date August 25. We kept calling the NVC daily for a month but they said that they received nothing from the USCIS. We contacted the USCIS and according to them, they had already sent our approved petition to the NVC. With all those conflicting answers, my ex-fiance wrote to his district congressman. In just one day, our approved petition was flown to the NVC. The USCIS kept our papers for no reason. There wasn't really a problem. Maybe they just thought they had transferred the documents to the NVC but actually missed that.

Anyway, we are both so grateful to the congressman. He even called up my ex-fiance personally. From then on, my K1 and AOS process have been smooth and quick. I am now married to my ex-fiance for nine months.

Keep pushing. I hope things work better for you and your love. :star: I suggest that you don't wait for 180 days. Try to reach your senator. And of course, keep your intentions, pray.

whoa there Sam.

Don't use 2 different offices, 2 different ILS people.

Pick 1. Use 1. Harry/Harass 1.

When you use 2, you 'soften' any attack , make the effort less useful.

Pick 1.

Use 1.

Stick with 1.

[iLS = Immigration Liason Staffer. Each Senator's office / Congressman's office has one. If the ILS is an intern, don't use that office, at all]

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hello,

I am shocked to hear that it has been so long. I thought my case is only slow one. It is only 4.5 months to my case with no response.

I suggest to visit Congress man office again and try your senator too.
