I have our interview appointment on Friday in Miami. I have collected everything they ask for on the letter they send telling you when your appointment is. I have also organised it in a file. What should happen after the interview? Should they stamp my wife's passport or something? Thanks in advance for any insite.

Every interview is different. But in general, they will ask you questions and look at some of the items you submitted. If you get approved at the interview, they may or may not stamp the passport (this is becoming less common). In that case, you will get the physical green card in about 2 weeks after the interview.

If you are not approved at the interview, then many different things might happen, the most benign being that they approve your case a few days later, and the more severe that they would ask you to come in for a second interview (which is still not the end of the world).

There are interview stories posted in the April and May filers threads in the progress report subforum (I know, the threads are long, but they should be in the last 20 pages or so.)

Don't worry about it. You sound prepared; have fun!

Here are some reviews from those who were interviewed in Miami:

This one is a recap of my own AOS interview:

The IO didn't stamp my passport. He just took my I-94 and gave me two sheets of paper confirming that I passed the interview aside from the verbal "congratulations."

All the best for you and your wife.
