I read the article and I understand that the clerk was just being a moron. But it does illustrate our sliding into PC hell. I think everyone should just get over it. There is no way you can avoid NOT offending everyone in the world. Live and let live is what I say.

Yes, I do. They're fairly visible in my userpic to the side. I very rarely go out without them, they've been a 'part of me' for years.

Gah! A Cat-Girl! I thought they were only in comics. I think I've lost even more respect for the human race now that I've found out that they really do exist.

For the record, I'm not the standard anime-cattard-girl, don't pretend to know the slightest bit of Japanese, and am often the one making fun of the preteen girls who run around at anime-cons and the like who scream things like 'Oh my god Sephiroth is so KAWAII ;;;;' (edit: oh dear god that turns into an actual smiley here.). Nor am I the type who thinks its cutesy to constantly make 'mew' noises at everyone like I think I'm a real cat and I'm trying to talk people talk.

I've worn the ears long before the anime thing got big, and I've never been to a con (anime nor otherwise). That being said, the ones SP (who I've read for years, too) refer to definately do exist and are obnoxious and make me want to hurt them. Feel free to lump me in with them if I ever start posting here on VJ with the ^o^ faces and random 'anime' faces, though, and also shoot me.

Oh, so do I. Only one of the reasons is 'People using the most insignificant things as their justification for hating the world'. Really, if you're that upset over something you'll probably never see, and you never noticed in my userpic before, you're just grasping at straws, aren't you? It's fine, you can catagorize me as whatever you like based on how I look, however, I assume you won't mind that I think you're one of the standard angsty 'Oh I hate the world and everything in it' types if you're that bothered by me.

See, I might be wrong, but if you want to pass judgement that way, based on one random factoid seen on a message board, I will too. I actually think it's possible we have more in common than not, but if you want to write me off on one thing, that's fine. Perhaps it will come back to you.

I can handle an abrasive sense of humour, I'm known to make jokes about myself and am known to be a jerk plenty of places too, and like I said, I'm used to them from others as well, but it's not nice to hear 'you're what I hate about this world' in a reply to my explanation of myself, then be told you don't have a problem with me. It seems a bit two-sided, but that's fine. I'm not bothered about it, just thought I'd point out where the confusion may lie.

My ears are silly.. I am silly, I have fun with the world, and I enjoy being part of it the way I am. But you know there are decent people in the world (I'd assume you think you yourself are one of them, with the respect you seem to treat our world with), so I'd just appreciate it if you didn't assume I was one of the general people in the world you automatically completely write off. Like I said, I think there's a chance we have more in common than not. Either way, I don't mind living and let living, and I hope that's okay with you, and while you're entitled to think I look rediculous, I hope you'll be kind enough to just let me do it my way until it really interferes with something here, like if my cat ears somehow get in the way of your journey to be with your fiance. Not to be all warm fuzzy kitty cupcake, or anything, but I've got enough drama in my life to worry about any on the internet, so...
