Folks,

I submitted all my paperwork to the London Embassy 5 weeks ago today and went for my medical 3 weeks ago. To date, I haven't received either an email or letter and I'm getting a bit worried.

The official website says 4-6 weeks so I'm almost at that full timeline. Should I chase and how do I go about this? The panic that I haven't filled in one or more of the ten billion forms correctly is beginning to get to me ;-(

Thanks

I am not sure, but I could be wrong, but how did they do your medical, as far as I was aware they only do the medical after you have received your interview date from embassy.

Did they ask you about your appt letter when you went for your medical?

I believe it takes anywhere 6-8 weeks, they took full 6 weeks for my papers to come back from NVC.

You can do your medical as soon as you have your reference number - I got that when it had been sent from the Californian office to London. I only had to provide the reference number to the doctors.

Everything I can see on the official site basically says "don't call us...we'll contact you". I just wish there was some way of tracking it or at least to know which department/number to start calling.

You could have the US citizen half of your couple call the Department of State here in the US. They have the same information on their computer screens as the embassy would have. They can tell you if the P3 was received, if an interview has been scheduled, and so forth. The number is 202-633-1225, press 1, then press 0 to talk to a person.

Hi

You could call the US embassy in London and see if an interview date has been set but they are not much help. I called them 5 weeks after my medical and they said your interview date will be set in another 4 - 6 weeks. Bear in mind this call cost me £1.20 a minute and I was on hold for at least 5 minutes. Anyway the next day my appointment letter came thru the post for 4 weeks time. So my phone call was a waste of time and money! Sorry if this is not much help, but if you do want to call them the number is 09042 450 100 and you will need your case number. I know some people have called and been given the date and it will at least put your mind at rest that your case is in their system. Also just because the website says 4 - 6 weeks does not mean your case will be within that timeline. This is still nothing to worry about and does not mean there is a problem - that just seems to be the way the London embassy is :)

Good Luck

Stacey

And, unlike phoning the embassy directly, the DOS is just the same rate as a long distance phone call, so if you have the USC call, it won't ost anything.
