Hey guys,

I'm going to schedule my medical perhaps for Friday. According to the Nicaragua US Embassy website the medical consists of:

"The medical examination consists of a chest X-ray and blood test, which includes testing for HIV infection (AIDS) and venereal disease. On the day of the medical examination, the physician will be required to verify that the immigrant visa applicant has met the vaccination requirement, or that it is medically inappropriate for the applicant to receive one or more of the following vaccinations: Mumps; Measles; Rubella; Polio; Tetanus; Diphtheria; Pertussis, Influenza, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Pneumococcal."

The thing I'm wondering about is if I'll have to strip down for the doctor, I know it sounds stupid but there are only 3 doctors that I can go to and one is a woman. If I don't have to take my clothes off then I don't care going to the nearest male doc, but if I have to I'd rather go to the female doc.

Does it vary from country to country?

My wife had to strip down, she said she was not comfortable with that part of the examination.

07/07/09 : Married

08/18/09: I-130 Sent to Chicago

08/20/09: I-130 Received by USCIS

08/25/09: NOA1

09/22/09: NOA2

10/05/09: Received case# and gave emails

10/07/09: Received DS-3032 and AOS email

10/09/09: Sent DS-3032 email to optin electronic filing

10/15/09: Paid both AOS & IV fees

10/16/09: Received email electronic filing accepted

10/18/09: Sent AOS via email

10/23/09: Received email that AOS was accepted and waiting for IV

10/27/09: Sent IV via email

11/10/09: Signon to payment failure

11/19/09: Received email for interview - December 14th

12/14/09: Approved for Visa

12/16/09: Received Visa

usually for the X ray you have to strip, but you get to wear a gown.

usually doctors will leave the room when you change.

blood tests don't require the removal of clothes either. shouldn't be a big deal.

also, HIV does not even matter anymore. a new law passes allows people with HIV to pass the medical now.

I had my medical yesterday

You need to be stripped to the waste for the x ray

The doc needs you stripped to just below the waist when you lay down so they can check your breasts, and your lower tummy.

It's no big deal they are after all Doctors and very proffesional!!!
