I graduated from my university in december of 2009 and filed my petition in January of 2010. For almost the entire duration of 2009, I was too busy to work due to student teaching. Once I graduated, I was substitute teaching and as of August 2010, I landed my full time job. I had submitted my affidavit of support back in June showing my financial supporting documents based on substitute teaching along with my 2009 tax documents. On July 15, the consulate sent us a notice saying that my fiances interview will be on october 6th. They want him to bring my 2009 taxes and his police archive document. When I saw that they needed to check my 2009 taxes again, I started to panic. Is it too late to submit an i-134 for a cosponsor? I now have a full time job and am above the poverty line. However, I'm afraid they will base their decision off of my 2009 taxes alone. I wrote a letter to the consulate interviewer stating that I was a college student and now I am a recent graduate with a full time job. I have all of my employment information (employment verification letter) along with pay stubs from when I worked there part time over the summer (I applied for a full time position and was promoted) along with a copy of my new payroll document. I also sent my fiance an i-134 from my aunt and my mother. I have everything prepared and I stated over and over that we will not allow him to become a public charge, but I'm afraid all of this information should have been submitted beforehand. If I were to send this information to the consulate in Ankara now, would I end up delaying my case? Should I hold off on sending it to the consulate and just send it to the interview with my fiance and hope for the best? Please give me your advice. Thanks!

You may want to go to your regional forum for more advice; usually the 134 is simply taken to the interview, not submitted beforehand. Ankara must be different. Anyway from what you say, your fiance should take everything you gave her to the interview itself. You've got a potentially sufficient affidavit on your own and two more to boot. You *ought* to be solid. But take it to regional and see what they say. Good luck; I think you'll be okay.

No no, not wrong forum at all. Just a more specific one that may be better able to help you. And probably you should relax. You sound like you're working hard on making things right; this is the ingredient for success. We all worry a whole bunch, but if I could bring your freak-out level down a notch, I'd be glad.

I was actually in sort of the same boat. Graduated college in 2009, submitted the I-129F in January 2010, and I got my first full-time job in March 2010. I didn't think that I needed a co-sponsor but last minute decided to call the Ankara embassy to double check. To my surprise, they said that my full-time job wasn't sufficient, and the I-134 is based solely on the 2009 tax returns (they were really firm about this, even though I told them that I currently had a full-time job and all the paperwork to prove it). I would think that the only thing you can do is call/e-mail the embassy and ask what to do. They are usually pretty good about responding to e-mails and answering the phone!

11/29/2010 Sent AOS package
12/10/2010 NOA1
01/07/2011 AOS transfer to CSC
01/11/2011 Biometrics
2/08/2011 AOS approved
2/22/2011 Green card in hand!

Hey thanks for your help! Did you call them before you sent the I-134 and got your interview date or did you just recently call them? I have everything filled out for my aunt and she will co sponsor, but I just recently did this and sent it to Levent to bring to the interview. I didn't submit an I-134 for my aunt in the packet prior to getting the interview date. I'm nervous that Levent will bring it to the interview, and they will say it should have already been submitted and delay the process.

I had emailed them probably 4 times, but they only responded to one. They gave a pretty vague answer and only answered one of my questions. The interview is coming up soon, so I'm starting to get really nervous.

I did send the I-134 with packet 3, before I got the interview date. It's good that you were able to send the co-sponsor's I-134 to Levent. I'm sure it will all work out fine for you guys- because you do, in fact, have a co-sponsor.

When I needed questions answered immediately, and they weren't answering my e-mails, I had Efe call for me. Every time he has called he's been able to get through to someone and get all of his questions answered in detail. The downside to that is the immigrant visa line is only open on certain hours. Good luck!!
