well i guess it depends on the business. if someone isn't hired as a taxi driver because they are buddhist, that is pretty illegal i'm sure. but in this case, i seriously doubt she wasn't hired because of her religion, but rather because of her looks. but in this case, i'll agree with you.... (i know, seems too freaky dont it)

My business I should be able to hire who I want and my house I should be able to sell it to who I want. Muslims can't serve, sell, make, distribute, tansport or consume alcohol.

Obviously, not all Muslims are equally observant. Half the liquor stores in my area are owned by Pakistanis.

good point. I'll bet she just wasn't pretty. And probably not very fashionable if a scarf figured in (in my experience--the scarf is just one part of a full-outfit assault on fashionable dressing)

I wouldn't say either beauty OR intelligence is genetic. In Portuguese they have a phrase, "there are no ugly women, only poor ones." Intelligence seems to be half-and-half nature/nurture. In the case of not hiring someone with a 40 IQ, did they really make it through the schooling/experience required to get that research analyst job? Not plausible. The two things really just aren't comparable.
