I have been using ASAP Tickets.com for my flights to the Philippines, however, the prices are a bit more than i want to pay. Can anyone tell me of a good agent that can get me the best prices? Right now, the best I can get for Oct. 4- Oct. 15 is $1,254.80

I personally do not use travel agents - I book directly from the airlines.

I fly out of NYC & I just did a search on CX (PAL do not fly from NYC) for the same date 10/4-10/15 & I got a price of $1087 RT/tax included. SFO to MNL would be $1007 RT/tax included.

Also, in addition to their published fares, do airlines do have specials like "Deal of the Month".

Also flying outside of Friday could save you a couple of $.

OP...i apologize for giving the wrong info. why did i assume you were looking for airfare deal for your better half to come here...i wouldn't be able to tell you! all i know is that i still wish today was part of the long weekend...LOL.

Good luck on actually booking a flight for this. I just checked several dates in November and cheapest total price was $51.00, which is about right. Also as tallcoolone said, just book to Manila, and then on from there.

Flying Into Manila & continuing from there is great if someone will be doing all his flying on PAL. Remember, changing of terminal - International terminal to Domestic terminal.

I paid about 3,200 pesos (tax/fees & insurance included) for a July RT flight for two (me & my wife). That was for Manila to Cebu & back.

I avoid Manila when ever possible, but sometimes it doesn't make financial sense. I use a Thai Travel agency based in Houston, TX. Apex Travel 713 784-5300 ask for Op. Even if she can't beat the online prices she can compete with them. She might be able to find you a flight more to your liking. Cathay Pacific flies out of Dallas and lands in Cebu. Asiana lands in Cebu and so does Korean air, but I don't recommend Korean air. The thing I like about a travel agent is I am always changing my return flight after I arrive, I get to make one phone call and be done with it. Me, my wife, and our infant son are flying out of Houston on Oct. 22nd with a one stop layover in Japan then to Manila (Continental/Japan airlines). Cost per ticket 1278.00 plus 160.00 for infant son on bulkhead seating with basinet. I wanted Cebu for entry point, but nothing within $500.00 in price available for our travel dates.

Flying straight into Cebu is much better & one of the main reason why is because of the changing of terminals,

When you fly into Manila & if you have to connect to a domestic flight - you have to change terminals. You have to switch from the International terminal to the Domestic Terminal.

That includes

~ Picking up your check luggage.

~ Taking the shuttle bus to the domestic terminal

~ Checking your bags again

~ Going thru screening/security again.

~ Paying terminal fee, among other things.

I would say to give yourself 2 1/2+ hours.

You will most of this if you are flying on PAL (they use the same terminal for international & domestic - just different wing) or just fly straight into Cebu.

Personally, I always fly into Manila as that is my final destination & always fly via Cathay Pacific (I am flying from NYC) and I always get a good deal from NYC to MNL.

My husband booked his flight to the PI 2 years ago by using this site,

As for me, I booked my flight with a travel agent, MNL- LAX . I am just the type of person that I want someone I can talk in front of me and discuss my options and most esp if there is something wrong, I have someone to fuzz at.

Alisto Travel is on top of my list for travel agencies at least here in the Philippines. I got my 1st time immigrant discount and also a direct flight to LAX for only

Fare: $396

Foreign Taxes: $148.60

Ph Taxes: $34.30

Total: $578.90

So I'd definitely book my flights with them when I need one.
