The competing news stories regarding the US Army burning bibles and the relatively mild collective "What the?" which follows from the Christian community worldwide vs the reaction to the mere proposal of some jerks burning quorans and the ubiquitous calls for death and violence from the collective worldwide Muslim community speaks volumes.

The news is manufactured, and these stories are an example of it. These stories are deliberately calculated to cause outrage, and the outraged reactions in those countries are stoked by that and are deliberately orchestrated by extremist elements.

There is nothing insightful to be taken from either of these stories, none are in the public interest. Quite simpky, these kinds of stories only appeal to people with preconceived ideas. That might float your boat but it doesn't float mine.

Your boat must be the Ark Royal as these stories have generated plenty of comments from you. I wouldn't say you're outraged but you've been following these media events which have been blown out of proportion like the rest of the commoners. Sells more than more complex issues on the economy or foreign policy.

Sadly, I agree with that. It's the downside of a free media that seeks it's lowest level instead of elevating the population.

You're an enterprising man with a creative streak. Why not find another angle or another topic entirely?
