Last night I got a cellphone as a gift. The cellphone number ends with '666'. I am not Christian, but I have many Christian friends and family members and was wondering how they would feel/react seeing '666'. To me it's a tiny detail, but I just want to be sensible to their feelings.

Thats pretty funny.. my cellphone number also ends in 666..

I am in no way religious, and dont fully understand it so cant comment on anything to do with religous myth..

The less people that call you the better, I always say. If you don't want the number, can I switch with you? lol

My father's house number was 666 for years.

I work in insurance and I heard about someone whose premium was $666 - they called up to switch to a lower deductible just so the premium wouldn't be $666.

Any natural tendencies I have towards superstitious behavior I really make an effort to squelch.

I answered that I don't believe in myths; I'm neutral and I'm a non Christian USC.

I know why people get weird about 666 and the belief behind it. I don't get too caught up in such beliefs.

I wouldn't mind if my phone number had 666 somewhere in it; I think it would make it easier to remember.

This poll reminds me of a good friend who gave me her parents' number once and laughed when she told me it had 711 in it because her parents are Indians and own a corner store.

Babylonian astrologists made some cool math discoveries.

Such as 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + ... until + 36 = 666.

Which was one (among the many) things copied to the Bible, with the added new meanings.

I would not mind 666 as part of phone number.

However I don't like 777 (as that would be drwxrwxrwx which is too many permissions for other users).

1. I rarely try to change phone numbers (though I have had a frustrating experience at changing the associated area-code--I got issued two "301" phones when I had asked for a single "972" or "770")
2. generally neutral--unless it is on the car of someone who I know to be a chop

our old phone number was 777 i loved it, well actually the area we lived in everyone's phone number started with 777.

We lived outside of city limits in a small township and that's just how the phone company did it.
