About evidence !

Hi guys and ladies.

I got a fast question regarding "evidence" Now. when I send my N-400 application. i am going to submit some evidence with it. but the question is, Do u know how many months of evidence are required to be send? Like the past 3 months of evidence or older ones?

i was told the older the better, is this true. i mean i dont have any problem but just to make sure what i am doing is right,

please read the naturalization guide. You do not need to submit that much at this stage. There is a checklist at the end of the guide so go over it and familiarize yourself with the entire document, it will be to your advantage.

The only "evidence" you should send is the official tax transcripts for 2007, 2008, and 2009.

And the marriage certificate . As mentioned above - read the Guide To Naturalization - there is a really useful checklist at the back that you can use to make sure you provide exactly what is needed.

That's not the evidence the O.P. is talking about. The immigration folks know very well that he got married to a US citizen 3 or more years ago; after all, that's why he got a green card from them. The O.P. was mistakenly talking about ROC-kind-of evidence which -- in my humble opinion -- should not be put into the envelope with the N-400 application and supporting documents.

But if we want to talk about all the required documents as listed in the guides, they are indeed all evidence of something.

1) Green Card: evidence that he's for real.

2) Spouse's birth certificate: evidence she was born a woman (no gender change).

3) Spouse's US passport: evidence she's a US citizen.

4) Applicant's passport-style photos: evidence he has a face.

5) Writing of name and A number on back: evidence that he can follow instructions.

6) Check: evidence that he's serious.

7) Marriage Certificate: evidence that he has not misplaced it.

8) N-400 application form: evidence that he knows what he is applying for.

9) Envelope: evidence that he wrote the address correctly.

All good stuff, evidence, of something.
